I see the players are going down to the Guildhall on 6 Feb for supporters to meet supporters ect ect I must say it does represent progress for the club to try and engage more with the town and hopefully going forward the county. Not sure about anyone else but I do wonder about a player or manager  that signs for the club and is unwilling to move into the county and make proper commitment . I think it's important to see the players in and around the town.
I remember back in the day going to watch a game at the county ground few beers then at night have a scrap down bridge street, Darren Harmon would regularly want to get involved in the action whilst I tried to discuss the tactics of the days game.( normally that consisted of "have you heard how that bloke is you two footed today"?)
Maybe that's a little too much interaction with local townsfolk but its true to say that we don't see enough of them about and I feel it should change.
Well done to those involved and more of it please.

You're right, if there's one thing we need more of it's players getting into scraps on Bridge Street!

Wasn't it Gary Johnson who insisted that players had to move to Northampton when they signed for us?

Frankly I don't care where they live as long as they do well for the team. We live in a much smaller world than the 80's and 90's were.

Yes sure maybe on a fitness front , I'm more thinking on an engaging with the public and broadening the clubs appeal both from a public and commercial point of view. Bayo used to get himself about a bit but as a club I just haven't seen this kind of initiative for some time.

I once saw a member of the playing squad plastered in the queue for the burger van outside zone/ritzy on a saturday night. I am not prepared to name names but will reveal that it was a blonde goalkeeper.

Was he with Janet from the club shop?

Was he wearing a Dennis Wise?
