It'd be nice if someone came up with a proper sticker. The club's history of them is awful - either the design was so naff you couldn't make out what it was saying from anything further away than a metre, or the damn thing fell of because of inadequate fixings, or it had so much information squashed on it that you needed 10 minutes to read it, or it had to go on the outside of the car because the peel-off glue was the wrong side and it then weathered to leave a nasty mess you could not remove. Our history of car stickers mirrors our history of on-field success - nearly there but not quite!

What we need is something classy not chavvy, that gives a simple message from a distance, and which can be removed temporarily when parking at away games. The latter avoids flat tyres and scratched paintwork.
The only material I've seen that is suitable is the poly-plastic stuff that can be put on and off with impunity.

I always thought the 'T' shirt slogan of a few seasons back would have made a good sticker?

Ive got a replica kit sticker in the back window and a scarf that doesnt stick on anymore.
Im sure the big crest sticker was/is available from the club shop because im sure they got one on one of the shop doors.
"WHAT A LOAD OF COBBLERS" (old fanzine name) would make a good sticker.or "DONT FOLLOW THE EGG CHASERS WATCH A REAL SPORT UP THE TAYNE"  Grin

I was very lucky to come across this sticker months back on ebay. I think they started producing it back in the sixties and on through the early seventies. It's my absolute favourite sticker but as sbedscobb mentioned when we discussed memorabilia a while back it has to be stuck on externally, it really was a true bumper sticker.

I used to have one of those, bought it from the old club shop on Abington Avenue in ther 80s.

    Life's a load of Cobblers......

I'd buy that if it was white text on a Claret background.
Or with a small variation
Life, its just Cobblers.
or
Life, its all Cobblers to me.

I also think a sticker that said 'Northampton' and underneath said 'Saints....Cobblers....Steelbacks' in the three club colours would sell well.

Right ok

i have had a thought, if poeple give me 3 ideas for design ill go and make three designs. ill post the results on here and the best one which will be voted on ill get printed and of course sell them at cost for everyone.

how's that sound?

The idea I had is to do a pastiche of 'The Omen' logo, just saying 'Cobblers!'  As an opposite to the Saints.
