Accrington Stanley
Aldershot Town
Barnet
Bradford City
Burton Albion
Bury
Cheltenham Town
Chesterfield
Crewe Alexandra
Gillingham
Hereford United
Lincoln City
Macclesfield Town
Morecambe
NORTHAMPTON TOWN
Oxford United
Port Vale
Rotherham United
Shrewsbury Town
Stevenage
Stockport County
Southend United
Torquay United
Wycombe Wanderers

Looking at that list, we have a really, really good chance next season. The likes of Notts County and Rochdale aren't in that list any more and they've been replaced by clubs with off-field problems like Southend and Stockport. Gillingham have a lot of rebuilding to do, and Wycombe will probably do their party trick of being 10 points clear in November and finishing mid-table. Oxford coming up are probably more of a threat than any of the relegated sides, and it's disappointing Rotherham are staying down as they'll be a tricky proposition next season, but generally speaking, looking down that list fills me with confidence.

Will be interested to hear Mr. Cardozas pre-season expectation. I would take play-offs next season and if we make it up that way, then great. Wouldn't want to pick the teams who'll get relegated from League Two next year, mind!

15th already, will that be the highest or lowest we will be throughout the season?  Tongue

Really Is s***! Really doesn't make you look forward with any kind of excitement does it?!

I mean looking at that list:-

Depending on clubs holding onto their better players -

I mean Aldershot could suffer a play off hangover as could Rotherham - Can they live up to the previous season's standard?!
Bradford should do better under Peter Taylor!
Chesterfield with their new ground could prove useful?
Gillingham could do well if they manage to hold onto some of their better players - But did they actually win away once last season?!
I can see Oxford doing well personally?
Stevenage I can see doing a Burton of last season and surprising a few people?
Shrewsbury you always look to do well, but I think they will find it hard going next season.
I don't rate Wycombe at all, but I'm sure they will up there as usual.
I think Torquay could surprise you know - Look at how they ended last season!

But who know's?! I would fancy us - But we must get off to a winning start and be out of the blocks early I beleive.

I dont know about Rotherham suffering a hangover, if Moore stays in charge they're tough to beat, and its worth remembering that they would have been in the playoffs last season too if it wasnt for a 15 point deduction. Plus they have a new ground on the horizon.
Chesterfield should do well too, another with a new ground, plus Morecambe who came close this season...again a new ground!
Both the Blue Square promotees could go well, as could Crewe who may spend a bit of money in the summer if they sell a player or two.
Bradford need to sort out their away form, and similarly we need to sort out our home form, having won 3 fewer games than Hereford!!
Shrewsbury, Port Vale and Bury will all be hopeful of doing well, having been there or thereabouts last season.
It really is hard to pick a winner from the division....nobody stands out, similarly you couldnt pick anyone to do badly either.....I think it will be really tight at both ends.

By the way....early odds are already out with Corals who go with Gillingham as 8/1 favourites, Rotherham at 9's, Aldershot and Wycombe 10's.
We are 12/1 joint 6th favourites alongside Bradford, Chesterfield and Morecambe.
Barnet at 66/1 are the rank outsiders, with Accrington, Lincoln and Macclesfield at 50/1.

As NTFCLENB said we really do need to get off to a flyer because by winning our first 3 games it puts us in the top 3 which will put several hundred on the gate and much feel good factor washing around sixfields, we need to be in the running from the off, not making up ground after Christmas with everyone getting on the backs of players. Far too early for preditctions as we hav'nt got that 20 goal a season striker, a couple of solid defenders and  midfield maestro signed yet but when we do, top 3 for us.

New grounds don't necessarily represent an advantage. It can take time to settle in to a new ground and if you've made a fortress of the old ground in previous seasons (as both Morecambe and Chesterfield have) the wrench of leaving can impact badly on home form the following season.

As you and Len pointed out, Stevenage will probably surprise a number of people next season. They got 99 points in the Conference last season- teams who have got that kind of points total in recent history have tended to go on to get another promotion within a season or two- Carlisle, Doncaster, Yeovil, and so on. Wouldn't at all be surprised to see Stevenage (or Oxford for that matter) in the mix next season.

Given our budget reduction of 25% and our average attendance compared to everyone else in the division we should still be competitive dependant on the astuteness and persuasive skills of Crosby, Sammo et al. Man management and motivational skills are everything allied with a set of players that work hard individually and as a unit. Here is the average atendances across last season so will probably have a distinct correlation to playing budget although those relegated last season may have some issues if they did not have relegation clauses in the playing contracts and will probably have people leaving. The positions last season of Rochdale, Dagenhham etc show that luck and good management mean more than attendances. The signings of the next month or so mean a lot to us. Whatever happens.
