What an idiotic decision. Wilder has taken leave of his senses for sure.

Toney's on his way sooner or later which leaves Richards as our only senior striker!

Does he seriously rate Sinclair above Nicholls? Give me a break...

I don't think it's that idiotic, let's sum in up this way : - if Toney had left today, i'm sure Nicholls wouldn't have gone. However, we now have Richards, Toney, Sinclair, Moyo, D'Ath, Banks & Mohamed who can play up front or just behind (maybe even Hackett). Therefore, would Nicholls be starting games or would he mainly be on the bench ?

After the long injury he's had playing games is the most important thing at the moment, if he does well for Exeter and Toney still leaves in January we may well see Alex back at the Cobblers in January a lot stronger and match fit than he would be if he was just sitting on the bench for us for the next month or so.

Good point well made .......... and we only have 5 games between now and the window opening  IF they all go ahead.

The time to judge Wilders "decisions" is on the 1st Feb.

Toney WILL be going in January.
Moyo is a kid who has never started a league game.
D'Ath, Banks, Mohamed and Hacket are midfielders (that's the bit in the middle of the pitch behind where the strikers play).
Sinclair...do me a f*cking favour!!!

Which leaves us with Richards.

Nicholls contract with NTFC is up in January - he's gone now forget about him coming back if that formed part of your argument.

We have needed another half decent striker since the beginning of the season.
Nicholls is not the player that he was before his injury and Sinclair is just plain poor.
That leaves us with Richards and a kid who for me is still far from the finished product and not capable of leading the line if Rico is out.
Personally I wouldn't have been upset if Toney had gone today, I was hoping the the money saved or gained on him, JJ and Nicholls would have been spent on either Marquis or someone similar.
Never mind, you can never have enough midfielders. Roll Eyes

Toney may well be going in January - but he's still here now.
Moyo is older than Toney and has two goals this season, why not give him a chance (if needed).
D'Ath, Banks, Mohamed and Hackett can play as ATTACKING midfield players, supporting the front man - if we play one up top.
Sinclair - I probably agree with you, but he must have something about him - he played in the Championship quite recently I seem to remember.

And Nicholls contract is up, but we probably have first refusal on his contract - so if he scores 5 goals between now & Christmas we may offer him something until the end of the season.

Agree with most of that but Moyo is a year older than Toney and is also bigger and stronger and a junior international now..  I would not describe him as a kid.

Glad Toney has stayed but he will be gone in January unless he picks up a long tearm injury.

Nicholls is a free agent when his contract expires. I didn't notice the club put an option on his contract. If not he can just walk away even if he scores a hatful of goals, the club will have no "claim" on him.

Moyo has played for just over an hour this season and has scored two goals. He was ahead of Toney at one time, has to be worth a punt now.

Moyo has started 3 games for NTFC and 2 of those were league games Wink

The last two games of the 2012-2013 season when AB lost the plot with dropping Bayo, he started away at Port Vale and at home against Barnet. I seem to remember him having a very good game at Vale Park!

Despite having seen little of him I have always liked Moyo and am surprised he hasn't been given more of a chance to be honest. Maybe with Nicholls gone he will see more pitch time.

Agree, surprised that he hasn't been used more since...

Dont even go there.
How to pacify numerous p1ssed off supporters, (in Cardozas eyes), dont ever tell them the truth, just bring back the lardbucket.
That will do, just fob them off with an early xmas present.
Unless of course its just another social media rumour...

I too was incredulous at this rumour - but not for the same reason as you! To come back a third time is surely a move too far. The problem now is that the rumours of a return appear to be gathering a little momentum. Frankly I just cant believe it! Still stranger things happen at sea.

------------"if he does well for Exeter and Toney still leaves in January we may well see Alex back at the Cobblers in January" - he is out of contract come Jan and am pretty sure we will see new arrivals in Jan 2015.
