If Toney leaves I'd guess we'll be playing Richards alone in a 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 or whatever you want to call it so there'll be a clear space for Banks in that case?

Wilder mentions he can play off the main striker in his Youtube interview which may be portentious.

Sounds like a good signing and can only be an improvement on the feckless one.

I do hope we don't play 1 up front though. a) It's ugly to watch and usually ineffective and b) The workload on Rico will be so high he'll end up injured again sooner rather than later and then we're completely fooked again.

Is this a loan that may become perm or just another bloody short term job?

By January the club might know if it has a future or not. Until then, everything is short term.

What a strange thing to say, I think the club might just still be trading into 2015 and beyond

Ollie Banks

Good player who has lost his way a little. He must have to end up here.  Tongue Let's hope he can make a difference and also that he can play football in both halves of the game.

More bloody loans. This got beyond a joke about 5 years ago, and yet we continue with the stupidity.

Well, the transfer window is closed, so it's either that or free agents?

You're going to have to get used to it, it's the norm for lower league teams who can't afford to keep enormous full time squads.  Especially teams like us who like to keep at least half a dozen players in the physio room at any one time.

Immediately below us in the table Stevenage have 7 loan players, immediately above us Cambridge have 4.

Spoke to my Spirite mate. Says Banks was excellent last season scoring 11 in the second half of the season but got injured. Played in the last couple of games for Chesterfield but wasn't up to speed and some fans got on his back (The wankers are everywhere) Sounds like a loan to us is just right for him to gain fitness and hopefully get his eye for a goal back in place.

Welcome and good luck Ollie.

Very similar to my own Spirite friend, who also happened to go to school with Ollie Banks. Said he played well until the JPT final when he got injured and has never recovered since. Got a start on Saturday and according to said friends father, "he wouldn't get in his saturday side" and that this is probably his last chance before he slips back to non-league.

Obviously not been on the ball recently, but if he can rediscover last seasons form then he could be handy.
