I reserve judgment , after so many successive downright failures we can only draw in the fact that managing this club is more difficult then it is at other clubs, be it facilities , internal staff , transfer policy or possible all of those it simply cannot be the case they turn bad then good again as they pass through our doors. Root and branch change for me.

I'm still in awe that he managed to save us from what I considered was going to be certain relegation last year that I couldn't care less how badly we perform in the next three years.

No.
Name one other manager who could have kept us up last season from the position when Wilder took over. The turn around was nothing short of miraculous and anyone who says otherwise has a very short memory.
He is a decent manager who is currently making some stupid mistakes. He's also got quite a few things right this year - the signings of Richards and K Mo and the continued development of Toney among them. He needs to learn from his mistakes and the chairman needs to show some balls and stop bankrolling endless loan signings to replace perfectly adequate permanent players.
The absolute worst thing for the club would be to go through this sorry cycle again: new man comes in, temporary upsurge in form, throws the baby out with the bathwater, decline. I'm prepared to give Wilder the rest of the season at the very least (barring genuine relegation form). A mid table finish would not be a disaster by any means when you consider that we have faced a relegation fight for three out of the last four seasons.
That doesn't stop me from being critical, though.

Agreed generally but methinks it is going to be painful and do very little to attract the floating fan - entertainment has been on short supply so far. Where I disagree slightly is the miraculous rescue - yes we were in a hole but given bottom sides generally don't pick up too many points we actually had to maintain a top 7 performance to get out the hole - turning the corner of psychologically losing all the time was a task well done but not in my opinion miraculous, given we apparently started the season with a budget and squad that could make a top 7 finish.

Who said we had a top seven budget? I've never seen a list of league 2 budgets - please don't tell me it's a super secret list we're not allowed to see, even my 10 year old lad is too smart for that rubbish now.

CW should be safe for a while, we won't lose now for a couple of weeks. Just think if we were still in the FA cup we'd end up losing to a poor Conference side and then the knives would be really out.

Give him a few seasons and we'll get up. As long as DC keeps throwing cash at him.. Which I think we might see a bit of a tailing off of soon...
And this is why I think we will see CW going off to pastures new of his own volition

The last one I saw/remember, we had the fifth highest budget. The list comes out around January time (I think), that's for the previous season.

This club has sacked so many manager in the past few years that if we change again we will struggle to find anyone worth their salt willing to take the Job. He's been in charge a year and IMO not only is our league position looking better but the squad is looking stronger. I know we are miles away from being were we want to be and at the moment we seem to have taken a turn in the wrong direction but to not allow CW the chance to turn it around and continue would be a little silly.

Wasn't sure where to post this as there are a number of threads which mentions tactics, team selection and Wilder however in my opinion I think the most costly injury this season has been Horwood and upon his return I think Wilder may be able to get us to turn the corner as at the end of last season we were able to play three at the back (Cresswell, Collins, Diamond, Tozer, Langmead, Robertson - take your pick) and two wingbacks or a midfield four with players who understood they have defensive responsibility - Horwood and Hackett. Horwood's injury has left us lopsided this season as Robertson although steady at left back clearly prefers to play CB.
Whilst I agree this season has been disappointing (in current position) after the encouraging start I feel there is no reason to over-react, We have a lot of injuries already and we will be in a much better position one Horwood, Hornby and Diamond return.
Mid-table would not be the end of the world and consider the last few season is an improvement to build on
I'm also confident in Jan Wilder will make the required permanent signings to not rely on loanee's
