He'll walk before he's sacked.
We'll take the cheap option and appoint Alan Knill who will lead us to relegation.

Funny how you slag Marvo off for talking about the Carr era and that he lives in the past - last time I checked the second half of last season was also in the past - and let's be honest about that particular run - if it had not been for an Oxford self destruct we would already be having this conversation from the conference.

Bit of a difference between 1987 and 6 months ago - especially when the same manager is in place

Bit of a difference between 1987 and 6 months ago - especially when the same manager is in place Both references to the past - which have no bearing on the here and now, so I would say no difference. Keep rolling your eyes and quoting Wilder's good 5 months but at what point do you say historical performance is no longer an excuse?

In the past Wilder didn't lose away from home, in the present he lost the last SEVEN on the bounce away from home......same manager, different times!

Jt is simple - if results match the budget provided, all is well. They nowhere do. Get rid.

Exactly Steve, budget in mind our under performance is massive!
We can't hide behind the 'injurys' or 'not my players' excuses any more!
Simple facts are we not good enough and are showing no signs of improvement!

Reluctantly I agree. I know it's his son but I feel it's time for Tony to step in and get someone who knows how to run a football club. Next they'll be selling one of our best players in the middle of a relegation battle.
Oh, you're still on about the manager who was given a 3 and a half year contract in January this year.
Merry Christmas everyone. Especially those who made the long journey, hats off!

If only the club put in the same loyalty as the fans, well done to all the folks that travelled to this match, shame on the club we follow

I doubt if the thought of relegation holds as much fear for the Cardozas as it did previously. There'll be no 11th hour rescue plan this season if it continues to go t!ts up. They have their money. We have our lot

Interesting, and you may be right - I guess if it does pan out like that your point will have been proven. True or not I suspect at least part of the excuses for departing will cite some of the things said about him on media like this. Funny old world - only far from funny because the future of our club is sailing very close to the wind.......

"Second half of last season".......? Wilder was in charge for the final 20 games and won eight of them, drew seven and lost 5......hardly setting the world alight but did enough...just....to stay up! 4 of those wins came in the last six games, so you could say "don't you remember the last bit of last season" because that was the good bit!!
This season (in all competitions).....9 wins and 13 defeats, only four draws though.
So, 46 games in charge....a full season in league terms..... and more defeats than wins overall. Am I missing something here or is Wilder just the latest in a string of "average managers" we've had? He has a 37% win record....Boothroyd managed 36%, Sampson had 35% and Gray 33%.
