Just for the record they were all negatively involved in all three goals and any full back who is getting no help whatsoever from the midfielder / winger in front of him is going to struggle. I dislike the way we single out individuals for criticism when the whole team were equally to blame...... and the manager.
Agree, he is usually the 7/10 player. He just happened to be one of those involved in all three goals yesterday and mis-controlled two relatively simple passes, some of the blame for which could have been put towards the originator(s) who would not have been happy if they were on the receiving end? I do disagree with are those that say that he doesn't put the effort in, even if he is often left exposed. Maybe that says more about those that play immediately in front of him?

Whilst I agree he got no support from Hackett he was directly responsible for the first 2 goals and culpable for the third. He is not a seven out of ten he is whole hearted but a five at his best.

He also, Along with Robertson is being played out of position. Our entire back four yesterday are Centre Halfs.
A side note, When was the last time we started with the same Eleven players?

Most sources suggest Robertson has played more games at left back. But he is clearly a very defensive minded one = where as Horwood is very much an attacking full back.

Well yes that he is. Still think he looks better as a centre back.
Is Horwood still injured?

http://sweeneymc83blog.wordpress.com/I am very proud to have played a significant part in the club’s survival and be part of a very together, determined and banterful dressing room, but at the same time hurt and disappointed that, after all that commitment and effort, I won’t have the opportunity to carry on the progression of the football club but hey ho, that’s football. My mind, from January, was completely consumed by the relegation battle and the added stress of not knowing my footballing future. Now, that it’s finally done and the great escape has been accomplished, I can switch off and relax until my next port of call where it all starts again, and you know what, I wouldn’t change it for the world. If we got something better than Leon than no regrets - but Alfei has been a balls up by Wilder. Now what we do not know is did he juggle his budget so right back was filled by a loan player whose wages were 100% paid by his parent club to allow him to afford Richards, JJOT, Diamond etc.

To be fair that is a good and accurate post. That is a mistake that thus management team made. It's also the reason why we cannot return Alfei and it is why there is no financial advantage in returning him.

I like Ben and think he has been a brilliant servant to the club throughout his 5 years or so with us but there are no excuses for what can only be described as a bitterly poor performance yesterday I do have sympathy for him though as he is being constantly played out of position, Tozer is a centre back and he will never be a right back no matter how much you play him at right back. Another thing, where was Hackett to help out? Nowhere to be seen when it came to defensive duties

Tozer had a very poor game Saturday and has not been at his best all season. In fact if Alfei wasn't so bad Ben would not be in the team. However there is not a player in the squad that I'd like to see turn round their poor form more than Tozer I really hope he can get things going again. Sadly I feel he is in the last chance saloon though.

I like him, and I think he's a good example in terms of his application and attitude.
However he's definitely suffered from being a jack of all trades positionally.

Tozer has put in some quite reasonable displays this season ; last Saturday was very poor but some of the hostile comments on here are unwarranted.

Agreed - unfortunately I think Wilder's unprofessional comment referring to players he had inherited probably included Ben Tozer. As everyone who watches the game Tozer is an honest hard working Pro - no he is not going to make the Prem but he is a more than adequate central defender - he is not a full back and instead of signing indifferent loan miidfielders & goalkeepers Wilder would, in my opinion do better to admit the Swansea loan was a huge mistake and look to replacing that position, preferrably permenently.

Adequate Central defender? We have 5 better than him in that position. He may appear to be hard working but he does not show the determination or concentration to succeed as a centre back.
If we are ever going to be succsesful the likes of Tozer will be replaced.

Should have been 'Probably' an adequate central defender, we have never seen him at length in that position..

To be fair, and much as I liked McSweeney when he was here, he has just been released by a club after a handful of games for the third time in just over a year - this may be one of those cases where we just don't have the full story.
