That turn and cross in the second half was sublime, I don't think we've had a winger capable of that sort of play for a very long time.

Assuming that the money is available, If I was Wilder/DC I would be putting in a permanent bid for him next week. I reckon we'd get him for 50-100K.

I would say that if Wilder want's to sign him DC would give him the option, after all he may well have given 50,000 to Sign some player by the name of Sinclair!

There's no way anyone is going to pay £50 - 100K for a player who can't get in Portsmouth's team and is out of contract at the end of the season.

A good bit of realism. Holmes is 27 and has been playing at our or lower level all his career.
He's playing great at the moment and long may it continue but there's a lot of nippy wingers out there.

Surely it's worth even a cursory bid at least? Pompey will get nothing for him at the end of the season so there's every chance they'll take something now.

Or have his contract terminated?

I'll be stunned if talks with Pompey haven't taken place already to be honest.

Im sorry I cant agree with you on this. Ok he is not going to set the leagues above alight I give you that. However like Bayo at this level your not going to find much better at what he does. He never looks rushed on the ball and knows how to find space. I agree, lets table a cheeky bid and get him now. We have missed the boat to many times and decent footballers. Having him here for the next few years would be great.

Lets put it this way, you are Ricky Holmes you know Northampton want to sign you and your a free agent in the summer. Would you say to Northampton "I really want to come here make Pompey a £50K bid and I'll sign" or would you say "I really want to come here, I'm a free agent in the summer , offer me a good signing on fee then and I'm yours"

What were they saying?

Out of interest does anyone know what position Jed Wallace plays in? If he's the one keeping Holmes out of the team we might stand a chance after all, he looks real quality.
