Got a mini-ovation in the second half after catching up with the Newport player who was almost free to go one-on-one with the keeper and then shepherding him and the ball off the pitch for a goal kick. Absolute tremendous full-back, getting him in on a permanent contract for a while is potentially more important than Holmes. Has no doubt played a massive part in turning our defensive record upside down over the last 3 games, and along with Horwood gives us an added dimension going forward as well. Great player.

Would be very happy to see our current back 4 signed up on lengthy contracts. All very good and at a good age too. What a vast improvement on Alfei!!

To be fair, he does have the defensive colossus that is Nana in front of him at Yeovil.

Not to mention the managerial colossus that believes Nana is better than Moloney  Grin

Yes he is a great player. He's here until May which I'm cool about.

Let's take stock at that point. So far so good though!

And that was some distance from the press box. Good shot Angus!

Seriously, if their respective clubs are willing to allow Moloney and Holmes go, what problem should there be in signing them?

We now have a tiny squad, we're also told about this huge budget so assuming it does exist, best get spending it.

Moloney has been a fantastic addition to the team.  As good Holmes is (and I think we should sign him), Moloney has arguably been better.  More than capable defender who is also great going forward - some of our play down the right has been great to watch.

To think we had to put up with Alfei...

The guy looks like a footballer, positionally aware and organised. Might be a possible signing come May.

Totally agree that he has been a great addition ..... and he actually seems to be getting better with each game, as match fitness improves.

Sounds like he just not fitted in at Yeovil, so hopefully if his form continues we can sign him permanently in the summer.

I don't suppose any of it has been spent already, Dog? Not that it would matter to you. Don't think I'm snipeing at you, of course, just telling you my opinion. You know, like you do about Cardoza but without the hate filled sneers?

It's one of those magic budgets. It doesn't matter how much you spend, you can always spend it again.

So it's all spent is it? Why didn't you let us know earlier. How big was it then?

According to Cardoza it was spent in August!

However he has never been afraid to put his hand in his pocket where necessary, that's why I like him so much.

We won't know how big comparable to other League 2 clubs until next January but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's now not top three, in fact I'll be surprised if it isn't.
