Sorry if this is the wrong place but as I'm sure many of you are aware, a group of York fans are cycling from Bootham Crescent to Sixfields over three days in February before the fixture at Sixfields. They are cycling in memory of Cobblers fan David Henderson who sadly passed away after last seasons game. They are raising money for the British Heart Foundation in Davids memory and have raised over £1000 so far.

Being based in York, I know the majority of the guys who are doing the bike ride so have said I will help them out with some publicity for the event. There is more info in a piece I wrote for the72 in September: http://the72.co.uk/17887/york-fans-in-charity-bike-ride/

Ian Jones, who came up with the idea was on Radio Northampton earlier and there will be pieces in both York and Northampton local papers this week.

There just giving page can be found at:
https://www.justgiving.com/ride2northampton/

Many Thanks

This is a great gesture by the York fans towards one of our own. Come on, guys, we get about 4000 of us at a game and I'm sure everyone can afford a quid so we should be able to help these lads hit £5000 at least.
I'll be doing my bit by donating a few quid.  Smiley

Hopefully there is a bucket collection at the ground. I'll donate a few quid.

I'm sure the club will take good care of them too.

I hope the club is aware of this: surely the fitting end to the ride would see them cycling round the pitch before the game and then receiving a cheque from DC.

Donated. I noticed in the comments, someone has apologised for landing them with Emile. Grin

I would like to let every one know that NTFC Supporters Ltd will be adding £127 to this appeal .This was raised by the raffle at our Fish & Chip Quiz which was held in October. We hope to present the cheque to the cyclists at the match.

Brilliant gesture by York fans, full credit to the lot of them. I know my housemate's brother is one of the 12 so I've been kept up to date with their training (or lack of!). Will be donating but would be great to see buckets outside the ground as well.

I believe there has unfortunately been a double booking on the bucket collection and another charity/Money raiser got in first. Shame but all the more reason to make a donation on their giving site.

I think that the charities that NTFC support for the season get allocated so many matches each , so there is always a bucket collection at home games.

I echo that, it would be the least we could do and would be great if our fans could show their appreciation at H/T.
