It's a strange one that nobody has picked him up. According to United fans (ones actually born in Lancashire) he was very highly rated. Still, didn't do much at Hereford or Swansea in terms of goals.
I read an interview with him where he said he was aiming for at least Championship level football, so he's probably either demanding too much from lower-league clubs or simply not interested in them, and not recieving offers from clubs of the standard he's looking for because he hasn't done enough to warrant that sort of interest.

OK - here's a name for you - Pawel Abbott. Decent lower leagues record before he went to Charlton where he's fallen out of favour. They signed him on a free (?) in the summer plus the wages can't be out of reach for us...6'2", 14 stone...

Very good player. Be great to see him here. Good shout! Although, I think he'd be on a fairly good salary.

I've heard a rumour we won't be going out of our way to bring in any forwards come Jan. I really, really hope it's untrue.

I haven't heard this but I really, really expect this to be the case. Does anyone expect us to have a stonger squad at the end of the transfer window?

If that's true, brace yourself for another toothless season up front! One good striker and we'd be going up, but with one 50% knackered, and 3 pretenders,it means we'll struggle, unless the midfield can up its scoring rate.

He is EXACTLY the type of player we need. Would require a fairly considerable wedge, though - transfer fee and wages. Would he drop this far down?

With Hinton and Guinan soon to be off the wage bill permanently then tis would free up a decent proportion of the wage bill. Add into that a potential bonus when Bradley Johnson goes in January with Wigan and Stoke both reportedly sniffing around him then even with being sensible there should be the possibility of having funds available to pay someones wages or a small fee plus.
Not forgetting the cup run to balance the books! Ambition with what would appear to be reasonable resource may just make our season less of a rollercoaster and allow us to push on.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

I'm sure it was said the other week that the cup run money already went on Tozer?
Hinton and Guinan = Jarvis on loan and extending King and Tozers?
I can't see us spending money on a player again for a long while.

Yeah, me Trotty. We are absolutely desperate for investment in a decent forward who can play every game and score on a regularish basis.

But Rangers are a club from another country - remember the Giles Coke saga?
