Burgess Hill on Sat July 11th penned in. Looks an interesting place with the even more interesting named Green Elephant Ground! Sussex seems to do good ground names, along with the above, Lewes playing at the Dripping Pan!

Yeah, saw that but pubs near Burgess Hill station. Only looks about a mile anyway. Even better, just 10 mins on the train from Brighton!

For me, a home tie with Cheltenham town would do nicely.

Morning guys, Wivelsfield is the nearest station to Leylands Park (Green Elephants Stadium) and there are 2 pubs close to this station, the Watermill is to the right as you exit the station and the Windmill is 5 minutes down the road if you turn left out the station. The ground is a 15/20 minute walk from the town centre where most of the pubs are. Outside Burgess Hill station you have the Railway (Greene King), to the right is the Top House. If you like your real ale then there's Quench bar which is 30 seconds away down the hill from the station who have 3 hand pumps (1 is Harvey's Best from Lewes), the other 2 change regulars plus 1 tap from Meantime brewery. There is also a good selection of craft beer in bottles including bottles of Kiln Brewery (a nano brewery in Burgess Hill) of Brewlin Rouge and Board Walk. If you are a CAMRA member you get 10% off beer from the hand pumps. A minute walk into town and you have Jacobs Post (Wetherspoons style pub) who do a couple of ales and lagers. Another 30 second walk into the pedestrianised area you have the Six Gold Martlets (Wetherspoons) where you get the usual stuff. Nearly opposite there is Penny's which is a cocktail bar but they apparently have Heneiken (no ales). Turn left at the bandstand and just past New Look you will see Pulse to your left. There are 2 hand pumps in this pub plus the usual selection of lagers. Also within 10 minutes walk of the station is Potters who do Harvey's Best and Doombar plus the usual lagers, this is a little hidden away but has a nice beer garden to sit in if it's sunny. If you've travelled by train and want some beer to drink on the way home after the game then just around the corner opposite the Watermill at Wivelsfield station you have the Wine Stand, they currently have over 120 different bottled ales. Any other questions about the town please ask

A trip to Sussex is always made better with a pint or two of Harvey's a very underrated beer.

Absolutely! Would be nice if a fair few of us make the effort for a summer jolly in Sussex.

Just purchased a tkt for Steelbacks v Foxes at the CG...and realised it's the day after Burgess Hill. Can't see being able to get up to get over to Northampton after a day out on the ales in London/Brighton and rural Sussex!
Anyone over in Worcester on Fri June 26th for Steelbacks T20 btw?

I can't see the benefit of playing Derby and other Championship sides like Birmingham from a football perspective however they probably bring in some income due to large away supports.
We should be playing teams from the levels below us who be striving to beat us. Much better preparation then getting passed off the park by teams from a higher level
