I think we will finish 9th. Burton is going to be very tough - they will want to get the title and in last 10 have not lost. But I think we will grab a draw and as for Wycombe - they appear to be running out of steam. That would put us on 65 points - if Luton lose the next two it would allow us to jump them into 8th per Ian Benjamin's forecast (assume Newport fall away).
Tranmere are gone - but there are rumours that Adams has walked.
Be crazy if Tranmere went down, they were always in the 2nd tier I seem to remember while growing up and only recently dropped down to the bottom two.

They were in what is now the Championship from 1991 to 2001. I would imagine then their spell of 13 seasons in League One made them one of the most stable clubs. It is a common trend you can sometimes drop two leagues in a row.

IF we beat Burton then I think there's a good chance the season will go to the wire.
It's just so frustrating that we conceded that goal at Oxford, given yesterday's results. I have no doubt that if we had been able to make the playoffs and be able to call upon our best side for them, we could have won them. But having said that, I think we would have really struggled in league1 given the newness of the team and its lack of quality back ups. I would also question whether our best players for this league would have cut it at a higher level...who knows though.
We have 14 good outfield players. Come August we need at least 18. Then we will score the 80 plus goals needed to ensure a top 3 slot, assuming the defence is kept roughly the same with perhaps a better goal keeper behind it.

With them sacking their manager yesterday and having everything to play for, I reckon they might get a result.

I dont think there's any hope whatsoever of us sneaking in. However, didnt Bradford, from a similar position sneak in with 67 or so points the other year?

I'd say it was possible we could sneak in if there was only one club above us, relying on too many to slip up I'm afraid.
Feel like we say this every year, but hopefully next season - I know I'm very much looking forward to it.
IF we can keep Richards and Holmes fully fit we have every chance.

Big if. Cant really see either of them going through a whole season. Viable squad alternatives definitely needed in the summer and these must be players who are good enough to regularly feature as starters and not just as second rate injury stand ins.

I saw Tranmere a couple of seasons ago at Stevenage and they looked like a Premiership outfit. Best football I've seen live for a long, long time.

IF Plymouth somehow fail to beat Tranmere on Saturday then the Play-Offs are still very much on, assuming we win our last 2 games. That isn't beyond us especially now the best striker in the league is back in our team.
Plymouth's last game is away at Shrewsbury who could be gunning for the title, Luton play Southend and Stevenage and could quite easily only pick up 1 point and Newport just had their best player jailed and are rubbish.
I just can't see Plymouth slipping up at home to Tranmere though.

Nor can I, in fact I can't see Tranmere picking up another point.

We won at Shrewsbury we can win at Burton. Especially with a fired up Marc Richards. It's a long shot because as I said, can't see Plymouth failing to beat Tranmere but having had a look at the table / remaining fixtures today it IS just about still on. Trying optimism for a change

Trying optimism for a change I have a feeling in my bones that we could just do this. Maybe I'm mad, maybe I'm too optimistic for my own good, maybe I've had too much to drink or smoked a few too many funny ciggies, but I can't escape that feeling.

I cant shake this feeling I have that something is going to happen. I genuinely believe we are capable of going to Burton and getting a result and I also reckon Tranmere will get something at Plymouth now they ave sacked their manager, still whatever happens its been nice to not be worried about relegation!

I think Luton will win one of their last two games meaning we can't catch them.

Statto question. How often would 67 points get you into the playoffs? You'll get 500 - 1* (on promotion) if you have that feeling in your bones. Alternatively you can give your money to me. *which is incidentally 4 times the odds you'd get on Exeter below us but guess they're not away to the Champions elect.

Between 10th and 14th. Mid-table obscurity it is then.
Does that feel more satisfying than last year?
