Rico showed exactly what we have been lacking in his absence, someone to kill of these games. Thought the front unit played really well today, with Toneys progression could mean 442 at home next season? Him and Rico could cause serious problems and we can trust d'ath and Holmes to work both ways. Jjot has played very well last 2 games aswell, didn't think he could play as part of a 2!

So frustrating that we dropped points against Oxford and Cambridge. Without those mishaps we'd be right in there...

What do people think about Jalal?
IMO he looked a little bit suspect on crosses against Oxford.

His kicking is better than Duke's until the wind kicked in. Clearly no mug - got promoted with Bournemouth and then they nearly went up again. Thing is the last two games hardly tested him. Think Archer would have kept clean sheet today.

Jalal will be found out one way or another in the next 2 games as I think our opposition will keep him much busier than of late.
Should add that Cheltenham were absolutely diabolical today. They look dead and buried.

If only we hadn't gone 13 games with only 1 win. Any side that does that doesn't really deserve to go up do they

That last minute winner at home to Exeter... That last minute equalizer away to York...
We'll finish where we deserve too. Simple as that.
Solid performance against woeful opposition...

I hope we show Johnson how you should attack and how you defend, He does not seem to have a clue how to do the latter. COME ON COBBLERSS. A couple of goals and a clean sheet please. Stuff Gary Johnson!
Just what I asked for, Thank you cobblers!

This. The pre-January side simply weren't good enough. I would argue that the post-January side with Moloney, Horwood, Taylor and Holmes has been the fourth or fifth best team in the division. This has been a transitional season - on and off the field - and we're in a stronger position now than we were in August.

The big problems we had pre January were...
The whole mucking around with Archer / Duke Not having a proper right back - how we managed to win games with Alfei - god knows Centre back wise no consistency due to injuries and Wilder tinkering Horwood being injured pretty much for the first half of the season (he only came back at tail end of bad run) Mohamed losing form and not having anyone to step in
The key for me for the summer is to get a versatile wide man who can play up front to challenge Holmes and d'Ath - would want someone in the young and full of desire mode like d'Ath. We also have to get Collins on a long contract - he seems to be the glue at the moment and is fine with both Crezza and Zander. My fear is the game is based on very attack minded full backs and as soon as Horwood and Moloney are not there we lose that shape.

Unlikely to see Carter, Mohamed, Hornby, Tozer and Hackett (although still under contract) next season. Morris may get a short term deal. There seems to be a question mark ver both our 'keepers but Duke has generally be sound.

I said months ago not replacing Rico with a like for like as soon as he got injured, before the train mere game would cost us the play off place and is has! Showed what a difference we were yesterday with him, someone who can hold the ball up and bring others into play as well as score goals himself. We look a different side in the final third!
