I said months ago not replacing Rico with a like for like as soon as he got injured, before the train mere game would cost us the play off place and is has! Showed what a difference we were yesterday with him, someone who can hold the ball up and bring others into play as well as score goals himself. We look a different side in the final third!
Completely true - but i think the mistake was made in the summer, not necessarily in February. It seems all you can get after the January window will be lightweight 'luxury' strikers, the type of which we already had. Four forwards - two big, two quick - that's the prescription for a successful L2 squad.

I think the talk of bringing in somebody, Like for like, to replace Richards was just the talk of over excited fans. It would have cost Cardoza a small fortune to replace Rico. Cardoza had and still has serious money issues with everything that's going on with the redevelopment, during the January window he supported Wilder by paying off contracts and bringing in three excellent signings. That would have really stretched the purse strings. Sometimes you just have to be patient and see how things pan out. We will be stronger and Wilder will be wiser for it next season.

Has a goal keeper been tested less in 90 minutes than our keeper was yesterday? We could have probably got away without having one yesterday!
Boring first half, decent 2nd half. Not much more to say really.

You have to wonder sometimes whether a Town deserves a football league club. Taking Cheltenham for instance. 3 games left of their season and relegation imminent a mere 400 odd turn up to a local ish away game to support their team. Really quite pathetic. Mind you - their team looked resigned to relegation already !!!!

No mention of any abuse/chants towards Mr Liar, was there any?

I'll be sad to see Cheltenham go down as its one of my local away days (despite the GJ hatred on here). Great memories from beating them in the play offs a couple of years ago too and subsequent p15s up afterwards. Still, I'll probably get my Cheltenham fix as Northants are playing a county championship game there later in the cricket season.
I think they must be our longest consecutive opponent at the moment and I imagine we haven't played any team more often then them since 2000.

You only have to look at how bad their support was in the play off semi to see that they don't have a big fan base. So no surprise they didn't bring many yesterday.

It was not just the amount of supporters it was the complete lack of passion that surprised me.

But , to me, there was a lack of passion from their team as well, considering their position they didn't look like they were "going for it"

I noticed two numpties got thrown out for abusing Gary Johnson.
Must say, I enjoyed lots of the songs aimed at GJ yesterday.

I wonder how Johnson felt? I thought we might have a few songs at the start and then move on, but to have such a wide range of very amusing anti-Johnson songs and to keep it up for the full 90 minutes - hadn't thought that would happen. And then for there to be so few Cheltenham supporters there at all, and then for some of them to join in with the abuse... All a far cry from the 2008 Championship play off final.

Sorry, been in Cyprus playing golf for the past week or so and haven't kept up. Was there any celebrations on Marc Richards 100th appearance for the club in this game?

Looks like there is a few grumbles about GJ already... Saw this on the Cheltenham Echo For the first (and hopefully the last) time since Gary Johnson arrived, I think he got it very wrong yesterday. Zak has some skills & is a decent prospect, but is too lightweight & way too easily brushed off the ball, & neither Ferdinand or Hanks can play the wing anywhere near as effectively as Sterling-James or McDonald (who is far better defensively & going forward), yet both ended up collecting splinters on the bench!!!! A midfield that absolutely had to go forward looking for a goal, left gaping holes in front of our centre halves that Mills was needed to fill - again, collecting splinters on the bench..... I'm not a qualified manager, & respect to those that are, I think Gary is a bit of a legend, but I have to stand by what we all saw & say again I think he got it wrong yesterday.
