Lee Collins to sign a new deal has to be one of the main priorities for CW but I have a feeling there may be more to it, do you think he will stay or go? I personally think he can play at a higher level but I am desperate for him to stay, he is our best CB!

I want him to stay because I think he's an excellent player. However I also think that CW may not keep him, or he may leave for some reason.

The only reason I can see him leaving is because he believes he can play at a higher level or for family reasons, CW wouldn't give captaincy to a player he plans on letting go

He splits my opinion for a number of different reasons.
His attributes are that he is quick for a defender in this league and is an all round battler.
But for 2 consecutive seasons we have shipped goals in, and he has for the most part been a main stay in the heart of the defense.
Collins for a center half is quite pleasing on the eye, however does that hide some of his cracks. The amount of games I have walked away from this season and said hes messed up with another goal is what sticks in my mind. The last being Stevenage when his man had 10 yards of space.
I wouldn't mind him being offered a new deal, but I would not be too disheartened if he was to leave.
I think he is the only one who will divide opinion in regards to the released players.

For gods sake keep him ! The prospect of Diamond and Cresswell as a double donkey centre back pairing fills me with dread !

He may well be my favourite cobblers player within this squad. Agree with above comment, we need someone who can put their foot on the ball. Diamond and Collins love a first time hoof.
Classy player at this level and covers left back effectively. Must keep.

From what i believe Wilders first choice centre half's are Cresswell & Diamond, I guess this will come out in the wash.

He said that earlier in the season but appears he has changed his opinion. Diamond has been for some time and Collins has been captain in ricos absence.

Both Cresswell & Diamond are under contract for next season, Collins isn't. I think he will be changed his mind again.

Collins is a better player than either Diamond or Cresswell. I find it worrying that we should even bee talking about him staying or going.

I totally agree. But with the love - hate relationship Wilder seems to have with Collins i am not sure if he will offer or Collins would except a new deal anyway. Collins is much better than 4th Division footballer in any case.

Im not sure our Manager agrees with that.
On at least 3 occasions this season the manager has referred to goals conceded as a result of poor decision making that has cost us points. Whilst he didnt single out any particular player anyone that was in attendance is aware he was referring to Collins.

...yes I recall the comments & the fact he was clearly referring to Lee Collins doesn't endear that aspect of his man managment style to me. Given he never said the same about Afie, and actually said Archer did a great job for us would suggest in comparison to others, his relationship with Lee Collins is not the highest. For me a definite keep & a good defender at this level but as for staying probably not more than 50:50.

This.
Man Management perhaps? Each player requires a different arm around them. Collins is a street fighter (literally ) and probably needs putting in place a bit to keep his feet on the ground...whilst Alfei was so crap and probably realised he was useless hence Wilders attempts to convince him otherwise!

Despite Jake Wright saying he wants to stay at Oxford I wouldn't be surprised if he replaced Collins and made captain in the bargain.

Oxford fans don't seem to rate Wright any more. I think all of Collins, Diamond and Cresswell are probably better players.
