Oxford fans don't seem to rate Wright any more. I think all of Collins, Diamond and Cresswell are probably better players.
Better ask the Cheltenham and Yeovil fans about Taylor and Maloney then ?!?!?!? .............

Man Management perhaps? Each player requires a different arm around them. Collins is a street fighter (literally ) and probably needs putting in place a bit to keep his feet on the ground...whilst Alfei was so crap and probably realised he was useless hence Wilders attempts to convince him otherwise! [/quote Agreed! Very good post Sir.

I don't get this Collins love in. As mentioned earlier he has been a mainstay in what has been a pretty poor defence. I think he is too small for a centre half in L2 and we can probably get a cheaper option than him in the summer - release!

As I understand it there's a gulf between his current contract and what he could now reasonably expect to earn should he re-sign for us (or at a new club). He signed his last contract with us after Boothroyd had done him a significant favour by employing him while he was still pending trial for criminal assault. He got a slightly improved contract in the 2013 pre-season after his sentence had been suspended but prior to that he was only on £600 per week with us - that detail is in the public domain as a result of his sentencing. All conjecture but I'd expect Collins would now be looking for a salary in line with Cresswell and Diamond given he's keeping Diamond out of the side. Whether Wilder wants 3 centre backs on that kind of ££££ is up for debate and personally I think that's where Russ Perry fits in.

Too small I stopped reading after that... I guess Cannavaro was too small to captain a world cup winning country before winning player of the year

I think today showed why Collinns needs to stay. Diamond and Cresswell are far too slow to play together.

100% concur with that.
Whilst I think changes are necessary you could never doubt both players efforts and commitment to the club. Good luck to both in the future.

Or maybe Chris Wilder didn't sign him so he can't be as good as the players he signed.
