Hackett..

Ironically Wilder turned him down we he offered himself to Oxford from Millwall.
The rest of the Oxford staff were dead keen to have him back there but Wilder hadn't heard of him.

Latest from C&E online from Wilder is that he is very very close to signing another keeper.

Would be happy with Clarke as number one with Smith providing decent competition. A big improvement from last season imo...

I thought the other keeper as Jake Kean on loan till Jan.  An interview was apparently played in error on Friday in the t20 interval?

He has indeed. And to add to that, he replaces Louis Moult there, who after scoring 40 goals in two seasons heads up to play for Motherwell in the Scottish prem.

Maybe that was the plan, but since then Ryan Clarke has been made/become available from Oxford. CW would prefer to have him as senior GK with young Adam Smith as backup.

Done deal....sorry to see him go but no way would stand in his way of playing regular football, will be a very good signing for you

I am hearing on the rumor mill also that Ryan Clarke is to be our number 1 next year.

Once the keeper is sorted, I would just sit back and see whats available. A lot of players from bigger clubs released so I would be offering a lot of trials and hopefully find a new D'Ath.

Once a keeper is sorted, although not ideal we would be good to go if the season started next week.

Yes we are still short in i would say 3 positions, but 2 of those positions I would say are cover, and only one starter may be a left sided center half.

Or sit back and wait for the takeover

IF cash is going to be available then it becomes a bit of a game changer in terms of who we sign

If cash isnt available then Lower league players are 10 a penny so nothing lost

Expect a few trialists

Bbc northampton just played the wrong interview during the break in the T20, and it would appear that Jake Kean will be the other 'keeper.

What was said during this interview, I didn't catch it while listening.

It's a nice thought but I think the fact that he was surprised not to be offered terms at a (now) Championship club shows he's still likely to have loftier ambitions that joining us.

File this one with Mark Bunn and Heidar Helguson.
