... jesus guys. Has the transfer gone through? Do you know the amount if so? Including all the add-ons? Do you know if Toney has expressed he wants to leave? Put the knives away, you get the slightest sniff of blood and you all go from into an outrage. Wait and see what actually happens. You guys are the most miserable people I've ever seen online, don't go suicidal on things that haven't even happened yet.

You make me miserable. Let's carry out an experiment. If you stop posting for 2 weeks, just watch how the mood will lift. So, do a poll topic. Question. How is your mood whilst on The Hotel End Forum? Give 5 choices. Suicidal, Miserable, Content, Good, Buzzing. Then after 2 weeks ask the same question with the same 5 choices. I predict there will but a positive change in general mood of the users on this forum. Will you give it a go?

Can you actually remember anyone decent who replaced the likes of Bunn, Jacobs & Johnson, all of whom we got decent(ish) fees for?
Are you suggesting Dunn, Demontagnac and Gilligan were not to the same value/standard as Bunn, Jacobs & Johnson?

There's a Chron article this afternoon in which Cardoza confirms talks are ongoing and acknowledges the need to put add-ons and legacy clauses into the deal.
Obviously Cardoza will never know as much about running a football club as most of us on here but this should be comforting reading for many of us.

Yeah to be fair those clauses he put in the Michael Jacobs sale really paid off.

Putting clauses aside, he is no longer being touted to a Championship club, he is on the verge of joining a sizable Premier League club, and yet his face value has diminished by 300 thousand in a matter of months. Says it all really

Dwight Gayle, age 22, 20 goals in 49 games - £6million
Ivan Toney, age 19, 13 goals in 29 starts and 31 substitute appearances - 300K
I do wonder if DC is seen as a soft touch by some... Add ons only start paying off once player establishes himself in the first team and in the case of Ivan at Newcastle that is still a very tall order.
Also, I really don't get you'd sell your prize asset for a relative pittance when you're in the middle of negotiations with a suposedly wealthy Indian consortium. Don't the consortium with their no doubt extensive football knowledge want to keep a genuine homegrown talent like Ivan?

To be fair, Palace signed Dwight Gayle because of 13 goals in 29 games at Championship level. That's a pretty solid piece of form, especially for a player with a fantastic goalscoring record in every one of his seasons as a pro prior to that date. Very different profiles, Palace were signing a proven Championship goalscorer at that point. The fee for Britt Assombalonga is a more alarming comparison!
