Now that Cloughie has been sacked by Sheffield United, could CW be tempted to apply?

Either the Derby job...or the impending post at Real Madrid especially if he's looking long term.
Does CW speak Spanish though? Only being able to say "el vino did flow" might hamper his chances!

Can we have Cloughie?

You couldn't blame him if he did, though I don't think the Blades fans would be too pleased if he were successful.
Why on earth did they get rid of Clough?!

We finished 12th in League Two. How do you think he'll be able to hide that on his cv?

Just put 'managed and saved Northampton Town'

I'm sure he'd be tempted to apply - but I think his head will tell him that their expectations are not worth it. He stands a better chance of success with what he's building here. DC may be intent on success - but he will stand by his manager longer than most (Sammo excepted perhaps).

T all depends on his ambitions I would think, he seems to be quite safe hear with DC supporting him and he could quite possibly take us to better things, but, loyalty is a rare thing in football, ther are exceptions though, ( for example Dave Bowen turing down the Sunderland job when we were in devision 2 ) so who knows? If he is temted then good luck to him and if not then, good luck to him here.

He might apply, but you can imagine how Sheff Utd fans would respond to Nigel Clough being sacked to be replaced by Chris Wilder....

I've got more chance of getting the next managers job at Sheff utd than Wilder has. Jesus wept people.  Huh?

The question wasn't "would he get the job". It was "would he be tempted to apply".

I buy a Euromillions ticket but I don't honestly rate my chances of winning. I'd still like to though.

Jesus wept, read the post..... Wink

Did they acknowledge receipt of your CV?

I think your euromillions analogy is suspect. Using that logic he should be applying for the vacancy at Madrid.

I don't think you have, and I don't think Wilder will even be in contention.

I don't think he's a good enough manager to attract interest from a higher level.

Wilder struggles at this level so i doubt he will be applying for the Sheff Utd job anytime soon.  Tongue
