All I will say is that you can get a large indication of a persons character based on race...but only if you dare to generalise! To be fair there are not that many Somalian boat owners who are honest...or indeed Greek business people who pay tax!
I actually don't know if to laugh or cry at this post, other than if you are making it as a serious comment you are clearly the type of person who both reads and believes a Daily Mail editorial.

Never read it mate, just doing a bit of fishing! Anyway....would you trust a Somalian boat owner? In all seriousness though, no body ever accuses people of being racist when they slate the Brits, even on this thread they haven't been picked up!

Is that because they are Greek then? Do other races pay tax in Greece?
I dunno mate, what I do know though is that the Greek government is one which particularly struggles to recoup taxes. Theres a lot of news about this, more of a problem there than in most if not all other European countries. As I said, I was generalising... Do Japanese tourists like taking photos? I'd say they do and more so than other nationalities! Are Italian men more romantic than British blokes? Id say so, I look forward to the puns with this! Do spanish people have a kip in the afternoon? Most do. Im merely making the point that most nationalities have their stereotypes however if you are intelligent enough to ignore that when you meet anybody from anywhere and naturally judge them on who they are as an individual then your onto a winner. Id say I do, but it doesn't stop me having a bit of light hearted fun on this website 'on the side'!

If you didn't see it, try and catch 'Things We Won't Say About Race That Are True.' Pretty thought provoking.

having a bit of light hearted fun on this website 'on the side'! You obviously have not been the subject of such light hearted fun. I can assure it's not nice and not in the slightest bit amusing.

I have worked in many different countries in the World and have had dealings with many different races and cultures and I have the privilege to call some of them very good friends. In all of my dealings both work and social with people from the Indian sub-continent I have never been offered a bribe or been asked either directly or tacitly to offer one, which is more than I can say for dealings I've had with some British companies and people over the years.
That is less of an endorsement, and more a case of luck. There's crooks everywhere.

Some people do assume things of races, but its hardly an English thing to do so.
I didn't enjoy being called Goura or Falang and being charged quadruple the price for everything. Nor did my girlfriend enjoy being groped because people assumed she was easy because she was white. Do I judge others by this ? no.
Did it happen a lot ? yes
Most people in Spain do have a sleep in the day, because you have to be mental to work through the f***ing heat, and from my experience most Japanese tourists take a s*** load of photos. Does this make me a racist ? NO
These are just observations, I am only a racist if I assume this of someone before I know them.
Does my house mate Ernesto sleep in the day ?, no because its 10 degrees most of the time in England. Would he agree that most Spanish people have a sleep in the day during the summer at home ? yes he would, because a lot of people do.
Before anyone starts I vote Green and I un-friend anyone on Facebook who posts anything related to the EDL or Britain First.
Corruption is rife in India. To say this is not wrong or racist because it is a fact. To assume this consortium is corrupt because they are of Indian is racist !
Lets not assume that any comment concerning race or a country is racist.

If I was offended every time I was called a Falang, Matsali, Quilo and had to pay skin tax I would have given up working overseas years ago. Do you think that tourists don't get ripped off in Europe, in London or any other major city? I know it's not nice. But try walking down the street and have people say very unpleasant things to you because you children are coffee coloured or your wife is dark skinned(this was in Northampton). Now you know why I hate anything that remotely smacks of racism.

I agree with you, it does happen everywhere. (I'm not trying to compare skin tax to being spat at or refused entry somewhere btw) It's a shame you have witnessed it from younger generations though, I have had friends have things said to them that are politically incorrect by old people and they laugh it off as they no they were brought up like that. But there is a fine line and I don't think some people actually understand what racism is. People should never be judged , but its shame that people are scared to discuss heritage or culture in case they are perceived as racist. For example I have asked an Indian guy with a Christian name if He was from southern India and it sparked up a great conversation about his home city , some of my white friends said was being racist to ask him ? I don't think I was . Maybe If I asked the guy who sits next to me where he is from I it could be as I know he is a 2nd or 3rd generation immigrant and would probably laugh at me and say Derby.

That was excellent. Tried getting so many at work (global nationalities) to watch...though don't think available now. If using stats, so many stereotypes prove far closer to truths than many dare admit. The withdrawn 'Awareness on Child Grooming' vid pulled by the gov't because it featured 'asian' faces and remade with whites only was particularily galling! So anyway, what's happened to this 'consortium'?

You see, even your 'at it' now! Stereotyping! Of course you will deny it, and suggest that saying 'no one would laugh if they came from Derby' is somehow different than saying 'no one would laugh if they came from India' but frankly it isn't! I will no doubt get another wave of 'wow', 'unbelievable' type comments BUT I don't care because (a) Im not one tiny percent racist & (b) Im more than comfortable talking about it. Unlike a fair chunk of people. From my experience its the uni guardian 'types' (once again stereotyping) that are afraid to confront stereotyping and only see the danger in doing so. We all laugh at how the Germans never miss penalties, but delve slightly deeper and once again that is stereotyping. Everybody does it all of the time, even though many will never admit to doing so. I knew that just touching on it would attract a lot of bites and it has, thats why I find it funny. Not the subject itself. Gen D is spot on. Anyway, thats it from me on the subject. I wanna know who these Indians are and indeed why they their nationality has been 'released' but not their identity!

Its one thing to have a steriotypical view of someone based on where they are from but to then take it further and make business decisions or any decision/opinion based off it is ridiculous.
I wouldnt quite call it racist, but its lazy, ignorant and plain moronic.
