The Cobblers Fans Team (The Shoemakers) is on the lookout for some new players if anyone is interested.

A few times last year we had to cancel games with other clubs' teams due to lack of numbers, so if anyone fancies a kick about on Saturday mornings and meeting some new Cobblers fans then you would be more than welcome.

It's more of a social thing than a deadly serious league, but we do like to win the games if we can Tongue

Doesn't matter about how good or bad you are or even if you just want to get your fitness up - you would be welcome.

We usually play games at either Bugbrooke or the Racecourse, and if there's not a game on we try and fit in some training either at Goals in Mereway or at the park in Upton near Sixfields.

We also try and play away games to coincide with where the real NTFC lads are playing that afternoon - so it makes a day out it if nothing else!

Let me know on here if you're interested, or feel free to PM me if you want to have a chat over the phone or anything.

With a goalscoring record like that I'm sure we could move you from striker to left midfielder Tongue

I would be interested in an owner role.

I have played alongside Luke Chambers at youth level (eight years old lol). Felt i taught him alot, thank god he forgot it all.

Wouldnt mind doing some training, only played 5 a sidr recently.

Drop Fez your details if you're up for it Hallam. No worries that you've only played 5 aside recently.

We do already have a mystery individual looking to buy us out for £2.65m. All we know is that he is local, has 12 years experience of running a football club and is looking for a new challenge.

Anyway, we are ideally looking for players who can regularly commit to Saturday mornings, including home games, away games and training. Typically if we have enough players, we would play 15-20 games a season (50% home), an end of season sixfields game, and 20 odd training sessions.
Also there is a social element to it. We have a good laugh and where as we aren't great, we enjoy being competitive but in usually friendly and we'll tempered games against other like minded fans. Also we  often have a Christmas night out and/or end of season shindig... and of course we have the away days. Most of us are in our 30s now but there are a couple of whippersnappers like Fez too.

It's useful to have a pool of ringers to make numbers up but game time priority will always be given to regulars.

I played 1 game way back when. Still have the pictures. Think it was against QPR. Andrew Ellis played in the match and a certain David Cardoza was also present. Think I was stuck in at right back. Was fun times

Starting my Uni placement year in a few weeks, not sure how often i'll be available but sounds decent to me. Stick my name down. I'm pretty decent all round, played in goal most of my footballing career so far (I once had a trial for Brackley Town i'll have you all know  Grin)

I'll be free for any away games up north (Pools, Carlisle, York etc), so let me know if you plan to take those on later in the season. I've played everywhere, with various levels of success, so would "just be pleased to be involved" etc etc. - If you do need players for those game I might be able to get an ex Cobbler out of retirement for a kick about with us. - I can't commit to your "home" games, as I never know until a couple of days before whether I can travel.

I would definitely be interested, would need advance notice of dates as live in Milton Keynes and do cover work on some Saturdays.

I am just getting over an ankle ligament injury so am working my way back to as fit as an overweight, slow 33 year old can be, but would be happy to take part in this in some capacity.

I have played pretty much every position, usually somewhere at the back or defensive midfield though.

Longtime supporter but amazingly only just found this forum!   Smiley
