It seems I've not posted since August... slacking! Here's an update! (bona fide fans team opponents in bold) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 18-Aug vs Abbey United IFC (h) 3-1 win... fairly comfortable opener at home to Cambridge 25-Aug vs Trac Athletic FC (h) 2-0 win... another comfortable game, should have scored more! 01-Sep vs Sixfields Rangers (a) 5-0 loss... comprehensively beaten, didn't get going 08-Sep vs MKDSA FC (h) 2-0 win... early goals sealed it, rocky end to the game including conceding a penalty which was saved! 11-Sep vs UoN Staff Team (a) 5-2 win... ran riot, could have scored more 15-Sep vs Portly Vale (a) 5-0 loss... woeful, couldn't string a pass together 13-Oct vs Watford (h) 4-0 loss... somehow kept it 1-0 for 60 minutes, then the ran out deserved winners 20-Oct vs MKDSA FC (a) 1-1 draw... battled from a goal down to draw, the absolute least we deserved 27-Oct vs Raging Fever FC (a) 4-0 win... performance of the season (so far) away to Oxford, 4 goalscorers, all from outside the box 10-Nov vs MKDSA FC (h) 2-1 loss... just a friendly (already played h/a), but not good enough and chances few and far between ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Plenty of games ahead, subject to numbers and of course the weather.... > 8-Dec vs Watford (a) > 15-Dec vs Badgers SFC (h) > 22-Dec vs Yeovil SFC (a) > 12-Jan vs Carlisle (h) > 19-Jan vs Abbey United IFC (a) > 26-Jan vs Burton Albion (h) Some matchday photos too; https://www.flickr.com/photos/claretshoemakersifc

Can we have photos more regularly please? There’s some fine specimens on display and it’s been an absolute treat for the wife.

Does Van Veen really think he's fooling anyone with that oversized cushion up his shirt?

All in jest Corno, I would love to be local enough to come and play, if selected of course...

20 games played for us this season, time for an update! Without doubt, achievement of the season for us, is making the South East Plate final, after edging out Luton (Hatters Fans FC) 4-1 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw. Wasn't there myself, but apparently we could have got the job done in normal time. That game aside, not too much to shout about, but good to get plenty of games in, including some intrasquad matches. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 15-Dec vs Intrasquad, 4-3 <PHOTOS>12-Jan vs Carlisle London (h) 2-1 loss... decent contest <PHOTOS>19-Jan vs Abbey United (a) 9-2 loss... disaster, say no more <PHOTOS>26-Jan vs Burton Albion (h) 6-1 loss... game far closer than the scoreline suggests <PHOTOS>16-Feb vs NTFC Multi-disabled (a) 1-0 loss... enjoyable game against the NTFC side preparing for their own FA Cup fixtures, wasted numerous chances <PHOTOS>9-Mar vs Intrasquad, 3-2 17-Mar vs Man v Fat Northampton (a) 3-2 loss... 30-Mar vs Portly Vale (h) 2-1 loss... <PHOTOS>13-Apr vs Hatters Fans FC (a) 3-3 draw, 4-1 win on penalties, excellent team performance 19-Apr vs Man v Fat Northampton (h) 2-1 win... another game of numerous chances wasted <PHOTOS>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2019/20 is around the corner. We will be recuiting for more players, so please spread the word, more on that in a second. First a 18/19 round-up ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 17-May vs Royal Mail FC Milton Keynes (a) 6-0 loss... wasn't there 1-Jun vs Beavers FC (Hampton & Richmond Borough fans team) (n) 3-1 loss... held at Heybridge Swifts FC in Essex, wasn't there but told it was a very tight contest, and a decent, competitive game. This was the South-East Plate final, an achievement to be there! 15-Jun vs Hatters Fans FC (Luton fans) (h) 4-0 loss... they were just fitter and more organised. To top off the SE-Plate final appearance, we were then awarded IFA Team of the season, voted for by fellow IFA teams. http://www.internetfootball.org.uk/2019/06/21/shoemakers-claim-team-of-the-year/------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So with 19/20 approaching, we'll soon be training again (usually Upton on Saturday) and we are looking for new players. Please share with fellow Cobblers fans, feel free to reply on here, DM me, or contact our manager, Rob.... details on the poster

18-0 loss on aggregate . Yep that's how our 2019-20 has started ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [01] 13-Jul vs Yardley Gobion (a), 8-0 loss... Our first get-together of the season, against a side a month into their pre-season preparations. <PHOTOS>[02] 10-Aug vs Portly Vale (a), 10-0 loss... Travelled with 13 players to Burslem, this soon became 11 with injuries. <PHOTOS>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So you can guess my reason for posting, we need more players! Please share the word, if you know anyone who may be interested in playing football on a Saturday morning with us. Training is usually at Upton 10 / 10.30am. We usually arrange 2 games a month; where possible against fans teams of whoever NTFC are playing that day. This season, like much of 18/19 has been a real struggle getting numbers together. Minimum age 16, all welcome regardless of ability.

BUMP! The Cobblers Fans Team are back in action Saturday should anyone want to drop by. Equally if anyone (or you know of anyone) potentially interested in being involved, feel free to come along and chat to a member of the team. This season vs. Luton we have won 4-2, won 3-2 & drawn 2-2

This season vs. Luton we have won 4-2, won 3-2 & drawn 2-2 Unlike the Cobblers' first team, the fans' team know where the back of the net is at the moment. A 4-1 win this morning. As always though, anyone who fancies a game is more than welcome to PM either myself or Corno.
