This is not a point scoring posting like some, just a reflection on the increasing number of rumours from different sources.
The time has arrived when all Cobblers fans must pray a new future will happen in the next two weeks.
With a new 4K seater East Stand, a new training ground, a new increased playing budget, the loan repaid promptly and FOR ONCE good news for the long suffering Cobblers fans.
I realize the 'Jonahs' will continue recommending we cut our wrists with all the 'facts' they keep telling us about.
I applaud the consortium keeping their cards so close to their chest, very professional, so I pray they are successful and unleash the potential and passion of NTFC!!!

Not sure about "pray" but HOPE yes, the potential is there to be unlocked. The #proudtobe hashtag and the shirt release points to the fact that actually in and around the club are good people, with great ideas. LET's hope the new regime (if and when) will encourage that sort of thing.

Must we pray? Couldn't I just carry out a sacrifice or have a pagan dance around a fire? I'm not very religious, but still want to do my bit. Tell you what, I'll raise a beer to toast the Claret future when I have a fire later this evening. |

I often mutter a prayer when we are up against a difficult to beat side - like Liverpool! , muttered a few when we played Oxford in final game , also the last game v Pompey(h). |

Im hearing very positive rumours, however thats what they are...rumours. With no significant foundation. I certainly wouldn't publicly state what they are because The Drilling Cobbler has a fine reputation on this board and I do not feel confident enough to put my name to them, plus also they were told me in some confidence. What I state normally happens as most readers of this forum will testify. Putting two and two together, it should be very positive that they have met up with the council who have stated that discussions went well.That for me was the significant development of the last month. It would be good if this thread steers well clear of opinions on DC, its not about that. My only reservation on the originators post is that he/she states an estimation of 2 weeks...I think its been 1 week or 2 weeks every Friday for the last month or so! And assuming that (he) is the reincarnation of the poster I think (he) is then its been for a lot longer than that!  Anyway, if you know me personally..send me a pm, be interested to know the sp! |

Says the person who stated last week that you have opinions but you didn't want to say what they were! Anyway...I didn't say 'nothing'. I said that I had heard rumours that are overtly positive but I feel that may be unreliable, hence why its pointless posting them. All 2nd hand stuff, stuff that we've all heard at some point no doubt. Just got a hunch that we may be about to be onto a better path...my initial fears that the consortium was a delaying tactic were just that, fears. Clearly unfounded, given that they have now had meetings with the council and clearly do exist. Anyway Im gutted that I only had one actual bite, but the bite I did get was the biggest fish in the pond! |

Its not point scoring imo - its a separate thread. Some of the more morose views are disheartening so an ultra positive supporter is cheering himself up. He is a decent enough bloke too. |

I take it this is the thread to discuss the impending takeover?
What I don't understand about it is why is the consortium wanting to remain anonymous? What is the benefit behind that? How many other clubs get taken over by a group of unknown businessmen? Now I'm expecting that when it's complete that we will know more about them but how can it almost be completed yet we know nothing?
This is not a negative take on the situation I just don't get the reasoning behind it.
