Doesn't matter what his motive is, if he sells us to someone whose going to invest heavily in the club thats a real achievement.
He could easily take us into administration, or sell us to people wanting to strip the assets off us and just develop the land, or to people who are happy with us fighting relegation each year.
Some of you will never be happy.
I'm not interested in the pro/anti DC bickering - I'll be happy ecstatic if this goes favourably for us. I don't know the Chairman so I can only offer opinion and not fact - my strong opinion is that DC has his own interests at heart (optimising his financial position) and not what happens to the Cobblers in the short/medium or long term. If this means asset strippers or land developers then I think that's what he would do. Now I don't even have a problem with this - the thing that I find most unpalatable is this suggestion by the faithful and well intentioned on this forum that he should be congratulated or thanked in the event that it ends up well for the Cobblers. DC is the architect of this knife edge situation we find ourselves in - anyone who allows this to happen to my club is going to get no thanks from me.

Not once has DC admitted cocking up the redevelopment by carelessly losing millions or even apologised for ruining our big opportunity, so while he still hovers about in the back ground pulling strings and orchestrating the take over and all that goes with it, I'm going to remain massively skeptical as to his need to see the club coming out of it in a healthy position. Will the deal that's being drawn up between new and old owners be good for the club? We probably know the answer.

Some contradiction in your message - your not interested in the bickering but you dont hesitate to join in. As for DC getting thanks(& the Club) for coming out of this mess smelling of roses ; well if that happens he is a lucky man and will be contratulated by quite a few supporters. I just prefer to wait and see what happens first before offering strong opinions!

I now read that Ivan Toney will be sold to anyone who makes an offer. Seems like the new consortium must have changed tier minds

Hypothetically speaking, I'm not sure that the new owners would need to necessarily splash the cash on the field for us to succeed. Wilder has assembled a decent squad and has established a clear system (4-2-3-1 with more emphasis on pressing high up the field for this season). Continuity is important and often it's the teams who experience the least upheaval and change who do the best at this level.
I genuinely think we're a new pacey left sided centre back away from having an excellent starting XI at this level. (The Birmingham game confirmed our continued vulnerability to pace and balls over the top.) Add some decent reserves up front and in midfield and we could really push for the top 3 this year. I don't have a massive problem with Toney going as long as it's for a decent price and as long as at least some of the fee goes towards funding a replacement.
In an ideal world I'd love to see them come in and promise stability and continuity on the field and dynamic change and development off it: new training facilities, 24hr business revenue, ground expansion.
Of course, we've been let down too many times for anyone to get even remotely carried away...

Apart from last year when we finished above mid table. And a couple seasons ago when we made the play off final.
So 1 out of the last 3... but ok.
luckily for all concerned I said " feels like " then I suppose. Although with finishes of 20th, 21st and the aidy boothroyd rescue season all in the last 5 years in standing by what I said

Every summer we think we've got a team capable of at least the play offs.

I definitely think we'll finish in the top 10. Whether we can go any higher depends on our ability to maintain the fitness of our first 13 or 14 players. Things haven't begun too promisingly with 3 of that number crocked.

why? its not like they could come in, apply for a loan from the government and then pay themselves a huge fee from it and then when that isn't enough sell any valuable talent there is

what do think the afc wimbledon board would have done with a £12m loan? My gut feeling is they would have consulted the fans, designed the thing then got it built it as per the design.

Well, they are a fan-owned club. What else could they do....?

After all those years of fighting for support from the Council, we finally got the support we'd been pleading for and what have we done with it?
£12 million and nothing to show for it.
What a wasted opportunity.
Never mind AFC Wimbledon; I can't believe any club in the country could have made such a total hash of things - well ok, maybe Blackpool!

That money was there for our club

i wouldn't have given the bloke a bucket and spade to play with. Let alone 12 million quid.
