I'm gutted I cannot make this as attending a good friends wedding, can't wait for the season to start again.

I assumed clarke would start the season as no.1 but smith has done well when called upon in pre season. Agree with the rest of the starting line up.

Got to say...Im really looking forward to this game.

For the first time I think since the 80's Ive avoided all of the friendlies (I normally end up going to one before instantly regretting it!) and with no international tournament of note, I'm in need of my weekly football fix again. It would have been 14 weeks...so yeah, can't wait for it to all start again so we can talk football as well as the off the pitch nonsense thats dragged on for what seems like an eternity.

We should be able to properly hit the ground running, this game will be tough for sure and very much an unknown. Not only have they been promoted from the Conference but they are a big club with passionate support so we will be up against a full house I suspect and a team desperate (more than most) to start off with a win.

As long as we don't concede an early goal (first 20 minutes) then I fancy us to win...

A tough game to start with, but one we should be more than capable of winning.

They haven't been in the best of form lately, but have fantastic support and will be gunning for us as it is their first game back in the Football League.

Can I say that I hate this ground. Shoved up the corner in the open, and every time I go there, its cold and wet.
Never found a decent pub stop on the way down, (open to suggestions), and the traffic on the way in and out, is worthy of a Saints management system.
Still, I suppose its better to go in August, than a tuesday night in January.

Always been scorching sunshine when I've been!
Have to say, Bristol comes top in favourite cities in the UK, London aside.

Depends what you mean by pub stop. If you mean on the way down driving - don't know. Getting into Bristol Temple Meads;
Cornubia and Seven Stars are 5 mins walk towards city centre and great (especially Seven Stars). One minute from there is the river bridge with the Apple Cider Barge moored along the quay. Brewdog also there as is massive Fullers pub and a few others.
Needs bus or taxi along Gloucester Rd to Mem, where always found the Wellington ok. Avoid the Victoria...GHS pub! Wink

How are the ticket sales going? I won't be able to buy until payday but am tempted. Might seek out a route by train from Leicester by double/treble booking but it's miles from Temple Meads isn't it?

The trust coach is £10.00! to Bristol! Bit cheaper than BR.

Yes, the Memorial is miles from Temple Meads. Bristol Parkway closer (also on main lines), Filton closer too.

And I've been on the Trust coach before apart from Steve Riches handing biscuits round, dull, dull and duller.

Catch a National Express Bus to Npton - still cheaper than BR.
