Helluva cross by Buchanan for the goal.

Agree with Adam - NTFC above. However, I can't believe nobody is naming Zander Diamond as having a good game.
He was the athletic equivalent of a Hungry Hippo...... he just devoured every ball that came near him!
MOM imo....

The shirts ARE pink aren't they? Looked a good cross and header. Their man will be very disappointed with his effort to chip the keeper at the end there...

I love the expression 'tumble' to describe odds going from 16/1 to 14/1. Mind you as someone who bet on 16s ages ago I'm a bit disappointed to see they are still 16/1 at Betway. Get on fast!

Ahh, I thought we were 20's with a couple of bookies on Friday....20 to 14 is a tumble, 16-14 is more of a stumble!

To be fair we may have gone out to 20s - I haven't looked for a couple of weeks.

VERY solid performance...shut out Bristol bar two chances. They didn't even get a corner until injury time (we had 9 according to stats).
Biggest plus for me (other than the 3 points!) was Lelan. My mom. I admit to travelling there thinking that he could be the potential weak link for us, given his age and inexperience. Glad to say those fears were unfounded and he will keep Maloney honest, no doubt about that whatsoever. You can tell (after 1 game) he's no Ashley Corker or Danny Alfei!
Richards could have should have had a hatrick. Surprised they didn't show his early chance on the hi-lights, he was in an almost identical position as their forward was when he smashed it straight at Smith near the end, the only difference being that their keeper was in no mans land. Unfortunately he put it wide. Also probably should have scored from a header in the first half as well.
The biggest difference between the two sides was fitness. Whilst we were busy pressing in the last 20 minutes, Rovers looked knackered and we really should have finished them off. Throughout we won all of the battles, the headers, the 50/50s. Bodes well.
Difficult to say whats in store for Brisol Rovers, whilst they looked poor we won't know until the table has formed if that was because of us or them! Either way, we did the job on the day.
I predicted a comfortable 2-0 win beforehand and it should have been that because it was a 2-0 performance. So no surprises. I make it that we have now for 17 players comfortable at this level...I will reserve judgement on Hoskins, Corry, McDonald and the lad from Sheffield until I've seen them start a game or two.

A great weekend and an excellent start to the season for the Cobblers.
Very impressed with a number of our new signings (Lelan, Adams, Buchanan, Smith) who hopefully will be better than those they have replaced.
I thought it was a relatively comfortable win although a 1-0 lead is always a danger from a late equaliser as we found out so often last season.
A good selection of pubs visited on the Gloucester Road and our pink away shirts were certainly attracting a bit of attention. The celebrations went on long into the night.

Queer eye for the Cobblers 🌈

Overall a good team performance with Diamond the stand-out for me. Adams and Potter were OK more to come from them I think. Lelan I agree was the surprise and he can be very pleased. Buchannan is a player of the season type player already and the keeper looks to be a bit of shrewd business and opportunism by Wilder/Muggleton. Pretty got what was expected from the others although Rico will be disappointed not to score.
Trains behaved well. Pubs Beaufort Arms at Stoke Gifford and Midland Hotel in Cheltenham post match, not so good. But back in teyn for a couple at Phipps brewery bar was an added bonus to a decent day out.
