As a squad player, fine. We have an ample amount of options in the midfield positions, plus this lad doesn't come with any baggage. By baggage I mean a striker with 1 goal from his last 30 games or whatever it is.
The Wednesday fans seem to rate him. Reading their comments, reminds me a little of when he had Michael Warner who when played always seemed to impress us mortals but not Mr Atkins, the manager at the time.
This signing is the type who in theory should stop us needing to dip into the loan market. With regards to the back up right back and Hoskins, Im not so sure.
Sorry to digress, as I say pretty happy with this one!

Yes,but I was thinking of players we 'own' rather than loans. I think we've had a few loanees with university degrees.
After he left us, but Alex Dyer played for GB in the Uinversity Olympics (studying at the Open University)

This fellow could be a dark horse for us this season. When he gets his chance I am sure he will take it.

Is he our first ever graduate signing?
Leon McSweeney also had a degree from Loughborough, according to Wiki it was in Geography with Sport & Leisure Management

Carlisle fans up here rated him last season - tidy footballer apparently. I would've preferred another Jason Taylor type in there personally but welcome aboard Paul.

Mickey Warner had a degree. Dave Artell was doing one when he came here. Think Purcell may have had one as well!

Wasn't Ali Gibb studying something similar whilst with us? You could add him Evers.

Kenny Deuchar must have surely had a degree too? Wasn't he a qualified doctor? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-33570327 - Bauza recently graduated with a degree in medical genetics!

Looks like a formidable side is being assembled not forgetting Jack Cross circa 1950's who according to relatives was a very good centre forward and subsequently joined Sheffield United. Apparently he was a teacher! from Weymouth Terras Forum : My Dad, Jack Cross, played a few games for the Terras in 1959 and sadly passed away a couple of years ago. I am trying to piece together his career - which started in 1944 when he made his debut for Blackpool, taking the place of Stanley Matthews !
He was a prolific goalscorer - 110 in 212 for Bournemouth, 10 in 10 for Northampton, 24 in 54 for Sheffield United, then a badly broken ankle - 7 in 16 for Reading, 25 in 31 for Headington and then he signed for Weymouth when he worked at Winfrith. By the time he reached Weymouth he was pretty much playing on one good leg and retired shortly after a brief spell at Poole but I would be very grateful if anyone can let me know what happened during his brief time at The Rec.

Keith Bowen was an accountant, not sure if he had a degree.

Yes, you're right. He still is an accountant in Northampton.
