sorry RH I meant RW but I gather it’s not him either?
Haha!
No, I think you're right Melbourne.
I'll be seeing him at a family wedding in the not to distant. If I'm sober enough to remember I'll suggest he join the Cobbs down under brigade.

Good luck coming up with one for Menno Koch if he signs...

My old mate Ivor Biggun did a good one back in the 80's.

How they'll wonder cobblers star
Out upon the wing so wide
Wearing his cobblers badge with pride

(to the tune of Bob the Builder)

Job for Hilda
Can he fix it
Job for Hilda
Yes he can!

Ash, Sam and Brendon, Foley too
Hilda and Facey, join the crew
Jimmy and his gang, have so much fun
Working together to get the job done

Job for Hilda
Can he fix it
Job for Hilda
Yes he can

Someone else can add the other verses....

The Buchanan song from Portsmouth away was quality

Looking back on when we first met,
Signed you from Preston, we'll never forget
Bu-chan-nan you're the one, you still turn me on
You can make me whole again

Or, to keep it nice and simple.  (still to the tune of Bob the Builder)…

Sing for Hilda
HIL - DER – BER – TOO
Sing for Hilda
PE – REIR – RA

Wow, it’s almost as though his parents planned their son would one day play for the Cobblers and consciously went for 4 syllable Christian name for their bambino.

What these Ivor Novello's don't get is that they need to come up with a simple catchy number. The one which comes to mind is the 'Undefeated', a simple rhyme , authentic and even now is a tear jerker!

Plus it is practically the only number which most of us could gleefully join in.

I think there are some decent attempts here but nobody sings them bar about fifteen lads in the top corner so it really defeats the object.
It would be more our style I we wrote down our songs in the style of poems and then made paper aeroplanes and threw them on the pitch.
This would help keep things peaceful and not wake the old uns up whilst they are having a break from moaning and rustling crisp packets.
Get those aeroplanes ✈️ ready!!!*

*
Just to add
The above isn’t a song so don’t try working out if it should be fitted in to a 70’s hit or one of the latest attempts at music!!
