"Any Club that harbours ambitions of promotion/reaching the play offs really have to put the likes of Accrington to the sword."

Last seasons record against the top seven;

Accrington Stanley W2 D2 L3
Northampton Town  W1 D2 L4

Well done , good info .....................QED

Anyone else notice Byrom looking supremely disinterested in getting the ball during the last section of the highlights?

Probably knackered after driving down from Preston and back every day for training - according to Andy Holt.

I don't suppose your job involves receiving social media abuse, or with a potential end to your career always one tackle, foul or freak injury away. It isn't even particularly well paid at Division 2 level.

Or being sent to dodgy parts of the world (e.g. Plymouth or worse) with people trying to kill you, where one false move could see you loosing a limb.  And when you started, I bet you weren't well paid.

So like Chelsea then

Chelsea aren't in the same division as Accrington.

What on earth makes you think I am Cricketside? You are mistaken!

I just think it highlights that small town/small budget clubs like Accrington should not be assumed to be pushovers.

No, why on earth would I need to have more than one profile (a point the mods could always confirm) - although I agree like me  Grin,  "knockingonabit" does talk sense

If he's doing that then it's a lifestyle choice - cost of staying in Sixfields Travelodge would be the same as the Preston return fuel cost. Again, not sure he'll get too much sympathy for doing a long commute around part-time hours from those that do a long commute around full-time hours.

In a recent football league paper interview with Rico it said Adams, Byrom, Holmes and Buchanan rent together - so suspect he is not travelling up and down every day.

Didn't Beckwith have problems with injuries due to his commute?

Depends who you believe then - Holt said that Byrom, Adams, Buchanan and Cresswell are all commuting and car sharing. Probaly getting a lift with Wilder!  He also said that he commuted from Oldham for a while and it left him exhausted.

I believe this is a bigger issue than people think. It cant be good for you to be travelling that distance car share on not, and play to your maximum.

I over heard at the Newcastle game from Byroms Grand parents that he still commutes from his home in Blackpool.

There was an article about him in last seasons Accrington programme as he's an Accrington boy. He said he lives near Blackburn and travels down to Northampton a couple of times a week, so I would imagine that he also stays down here a couple of nights a week.
Players in our League are not likely to move their families for a 2 year contract.
