You understand Evers, that 'were' denotes 'past'...unless acting as a subjunctive?
Still working on your and you're I guess!  Wink

So, putting aside the 'Sixfields' stipulation for a moment, are you honestly saying Benji and Morley weren't value for money? Seriously?

Bit hypothetical - discuss please

On a similar theme, there's a few I'd pay to never see again

PEDJ BOJIC - even he didnt know what he was going to do next

Derek Asamoah - pure flair, became a bit of a cult hero in Bulgaria apparently.

Dean Savage - old school attacking midfield, would drive into the box to make things happen.

Bradley Johnson -  gust, bravo, athleticism and a left footed drive that would either fly inside the top stanchion or into row Z.

Gabor Gyepes - calm composure you rarely see defenders have at our level. clearly a level above us and a masterclass in tidying up.

David Seal - fan favourite, seemed to always nick a goal.

Akinfenwa - majestic touch and brute strength. he'll be the defining player when the 00s are discussed in the future.

Sabin - another super sub, not a great player technically but you'd expect galloping runs into the box would

Thornton - Fiety, fantastic feet and spontaneity. Could have been a Championship player if he sorted his discipline. Another one that seemed above our level technically but with enough shortcomings to justify his descent down the leagues.

Ian Taylor - another masterclass in football intelligence, read the game so well he didn't need to run and just have to stretch out an expendable leg.

Seb Harris - well out of his depth but the dedication he exuded made him stand out.

Hubertz - anoter big man who was deceptively skillfull. real shame he couldn't hang around.

Martin Smith - football genius, enough said.

Gabbiadini - operated a second before everyone else, embarrassed us for Darlington and was a joy to watch when we nabbed him.

i dont think anyone said that when he was here.

hindsight

Most were keen to sign him from what I remember.

Wouldn't have predicted he'd be a Premier League player, but he was still a very good player for us in his short stint here.

Yes, but the headed goal against Cheltenham (?) and the celebration afterwards was a real highlight, being taken off after about 20 minutes at Shrewsbury simply for being crap less so....

Seb Harris was just another desperate and hopeful signing by the club that goes as far back, in my memory, to signings like Kevin Farmer in the seventies who arrived from Leicester as a young Centre Back and was played as a centre forward to try and fill the void as we just couldn't find a goal scoring main front man.
Having said that I would happily pay the entrance fee again to see Seb Harris's goal celebration after scoring his first goal for the club in front of the North stand.

Do you remember when Magno Silva Viera got so excited after scoring his first career goal that he was hyperventilating and had to have a sit down at the side of the pitch to calm himself down a bit?  Grin

Ah, great memory!  Thanks for bringing that to my mind.

Larry Grayson getting his 10 minute hatrick (either side of half-time) against Cardiff and celebrating by leaping into the banks of snow piled up at the edges of the pitch also a very fond memory.

Haha! I remember when Gilligan came on as sub, a voice from behind said "Whatever the problem, the answer is never Ryan Gilligan".
