I didn't expect us to get much from this match, although a draw would have been nice. Crewe are a form team; they've got good strikers and have scored a shedload of goals, particularly at home. It was always going to be a big challenge after three weeks of inaction.

All in all, not the end of the world. Monday night is a totally different kettle of fish, though: we need to show some signs of improvement.

a) Why not get something from this match? Crewe had lost their last two home games.
b) A form team?? 2 wins and 5 defeats in the last 7 games! 9 games since their last clean sheet, held 3-3 by Stockport who we thought were awful and couldnt have scored three against us if they'd still been playing now! Oh and add an FA Cup defeat to Tamworth in that run!!
c) Three weeks of inaction......just the same as them!
d) Not the end of the world granted!
e) Monday night is a totally different kettle of fish, we're at home....but Lincoln have won 3 of their last 6 so are actually more of a form team than Crewe!!!

Missed Gilly big style today.

In all seriousness, Gilly's the type of player who'd have rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in when the second went in,and we were missing that today. Wedderburn in particular seemed to go into his shell rather than come out fighting and Osman gave the ball away a few times.

In fairness we have played an awful lot of away games this season thus far, and our record at Sixfields is actually quite good.

Our record at Sixfields has been ok but our away record is quite simply shocking. A decent away team has not been seen for us since the days of Calderwood. (results wise anyway)
Whilst 7 of the next 10 may be at home unfortunately that's still 3 that aren't.
