That Crewe goalkeeper who wore a snood was awful.

Wales Under 21 keeper and highly rated Chelsea player Rhys Taylor?

Not worse than Dunn.

Saying it again doesn't now mean there's two worse than him. It just means you've said the same person twice.

That Crewe goalkeeper who wore a snood was awful.

And yet he's on Chelsea's books. But he's about 19. And this is my point about experience.

Agreed about the experience. How many better goalkeepers aged 23 or below are there in league 2? Or league 1 for that matter?

Who cares? If age is the problem, get somebody older in.

Didn't we try that and end up with someone even worse?

Dunn is a good keeper with a tendency to make mistakes or errors of judgement which cost us games. Brown was just a poor keeper.

A lot of people didn't like Harper but we went up with him.

Again, age may come into it.

The problem with experienced keepers (experienced being synonymous with consistent and steady as far as keepers go, generally speaking) is that they tend to be hard to come by for sides at our level. The best lower league keepers, the most well-known and highly-rated ones, tend to be the ones who stay with a club for a number of years and over time, turn into good keepers, even if they make mistakes early in their careers that get them in the fans' bad books. Shane Higgs (Cheltenham) and Nikki Bull (Aldershot) probably being the best examples, and both have gone on to better things. I reckon if we persevere with Dunn we'll have a seriously good keeper on our hands in four or five years' time.

A keeper is an easy target to make because there is only one of them, however what about the useless donkeys infront of him ?

Do you mean the central defenders who continue to escape the blame?

I thought liam davis epitomised tonights performance. everyone bangs on about how he should be in midfield instead of left-back where he has excelled. but in games like tonight he always goes missing. always. and that is why he is still here.

Dunn made a great save at 0-0 and was playing behind a clueless team tonight. He's not to blame for our midtable position. We need to stop looking for scapegoats. Lets beat Aldershot and Hereford and start being a bit more upbeat.

Here's an idea, instead of pinning everything on a keeper who has generally had an alright season, sort the defence out

How many times did Tozer (for one) have a bit of a go at Dunn last night? I can count 3 times from memory. He just doesn't inspire any confidence to those playing in front of him.

It's the Ryan Gilligan argument again - some rate him, some do not. However, whatever 'standard' he may be - it's not good enough for this club to meet it's expectations. i.e. promotion - we will never get promoted from this league with Dunn in goal.
