This one has a long way to run yet: Coventry are still under a league transfer embargo! Sounds like they're hoping for a last minute ST rush to pay off their debts and fund their transfer kitty.

Coventry are in a real pickle if Westwood leaves. They have no idea of how much of a pickle if the rumours are true.

A good shot stopper.... but...vulnerable to shots from distance in the bottom corners Isn't that a contradiction? He is a selective good shot stopper.

Generally very good on his line but slow to get down to his bottom corners is what I mean and I think that is an accurate statement.

Yeah I was only joking (hence smiley), people say that a lot about him. I think there have been a fair few when he has been criticised unfairly from distance but there have certainly been others he could/should have saved and unfortunately they are the weaknesses you can't afford at any level. You can live with the odd flap at a cross, staying on your line, dodgy kicking etc but not when they are costing you goals more than once or twice a season.

I'm just watching Blackburn v Man U and I keep having to check that it's Thomas Kuszczak and not Dunny in goal today at Ewood Park. He's so like Dunn it's unreal, the commentators were suggesting Kuszczak should have been subbed at HT.

Coventry have been skint for the last 10 years. Mind you, so have we, but only to one-tenth the amount.

I don't know for a fact but I should imagine all clubs tell their players not to read fans messageboards, just kind of makes sense that really doesn't it? But footballers, being the egomacs that they are, are bound to so they can't complain when people say they're s***. Wth regards dun, well he probably will do well at a Championship club. This'll be more down to the club than the player as they will have better coaches and some competition for him - and before people try and say he gets better with competition so thats NTFCs fault for not getting any in for him. No it isn't, it's Dunns fault for being unable to focus sufficeintly without the threat of losing his place.

If Dunn left us and signed or a league 2 or even Blue Square Premier club no-one would be surprised would they? But a Championship club...do me a favour!
He commits far to many unforced errors to play at that high a level. I'm not talking about palming the ball into innapropriate areas (or whatever) I'm talking about dropping the ball with noone around him, flapping like Orvil and his kicking is not that good (trying to be kind here)
If you saw him at Burton away where he somehow threw the ball into his own net you'd say that he'd struggle to make a park team.

Some of the comments aimed at Dunn are pretty mindless. Every Goalie has a few gaffs take Gomes for example. Would you sign him?? Dunn is a goalie who improved this season - and I cannot remember that many L2 keepers being better. I thought the Brighton and also Liverpool Keeper's were not up to much either. I hope GJ offers him a contract and that he(or both) do not read this message board. As for Collis - he was an adequate stand in.

Collis was no worse than Dunn. I can't remember a single standout performance from him this year.

I would also say Dunn is the league two version of Gomes, utterly useless and incompetent.

I want a keeper who is trusted by his back four, decent shot stopper and does all his regulation goalkeeping with ease, I hate aplauding a keeper out of relief for picking the ball out of the air or gathering a gently rolling ball off the floor.

Good to see the tradition lives on of a small number of people getting together on here to play kick the scapegoat and then pretend theirs is a majority view. Dunn is a good and much improved keeper and not perfect. But you're simply in denial if you think Collis or many other keepers in L2 for that matter, were much better.

I never looked at it this way but you're right Karl. Complacency is only the fault of the person in this case

I would say Reading the posts more than a small minority are of the opinion dunn is hopeless. Maybe someone could put up a vote. Simple dunn yes or dunn no!!! I wouldn't think of doing this if chris dunn was still a cobblers player but fact is at this time he isn't and is free to talk to/play for who he wants to. Seems like an ideal time to find out who does/does not want him in goal next year.

Views on Dunn maybe also tainted by fact we've been spolit by having some cracking goalies at this club over the years to compare him too, some who "broke records for clean sheets" made "club player of season" or even into the "league XI": Bunn, Harper, Welch, Richardson, Gleasure.
I must add I would prefer we kept a tall, broad goalie any day like Dunn, rather than a slim, short keeper like Walker to face the bruisers BUT either would be as a deputy to a real quality keeper - which I'm sure GJ will bring in.
If we end up with 3 keepers then Walker can go out on loan, as Bunny did, for experience - but Dunnny didn't go out anywhere did he?

Well there are lots of other fans out there that don't post on this forum, so yes it's a minority.

I think we'll struggle to replace him. Look at Collis, nowhere near as good in my opinion. Also mr fenwick, you statement that he'll just be cheap cover, kinda falls down on the fact that the club will be required to pay a 6fiqure compensation fee. Apoloigies if it wasn't you I only scanned the thread, cos someone seems to've added 30 pages of other ****e for some unknown reason.
there is no way we will get £100.000+ for Dunn
