You were being a bit of a tool tbf. I have the majority of my family who come from Pompey so you are my second team.
That said, we are where we are in merit and that is still in front of you so although I've lost some bragging rights, my Xmas is made up with where we are!

They saw this took a chance and it worked.

I find it hard to accept that Paul Cook made an inspired decision - one of their subs with the pony tail was hardly a fleet footed forward! Chaplin was introduced in the last few minutes of the game so hardly a tactical/inspired selection. if he had come on in 20 mins earlier then it would be easier to credit PC. Chaplin made himself an inspired choice by his goal not thru' managerial tactics; which is fair enough I suppose!

I thought Portsmouth were pretty good and we generally played below par. So really it was a fair result.

The exception was Cresswell. He was solid in defence (and even played some fancy stuff as well), scored a good goal and had another couple of near misses.

Cobblers MOTM by a country mile.

One reason why I maintain a soft spot for Pompey is their fans don't generally have the same arrogance as some other clubs. They accept they are a big club in this league but can also accept that they have no god given right to be promoted based on attendances. They also seem delighted that despite all the well documented financial issues they actually still have the club to support.

The match officials were way below what i expect from L2 officials. Sitting in the north stand towards the east the linesman twice (1 for and 1 against us) appeared to miss the ball going right out of play right under his nose. The ref and lino missed a blatant handball by JJOT inside our box. Plus what appeared to be numerous incidents all over the pitch.

I think the final result was fair and they should of had a penalty at 1-1 for the handball. Why JJOT (under par like most of them) made the decision to handle the ball at 1-1 in the box, on a yellow card was stupid. If we lose him we will struggle to command the middle of the pitch.

13/5 home win, Pompey betting affecting the odds? That's pretty big for a the top of the table side, on a 7 match winning run at home to a side that's not won in a few

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/northampton-v-portsmouth/winner

and that's why you don't see bookies wearing bicycle clips. ;-)

How many points have we won from doing this? It's easy to comment when it doesn't work and forget the amount of times our overload has won us points.
You have a point Sir, but how many leads have have we thrown away playing like his?

If I knew that and it outweighed the points won I wouldn't be arguing the other side.  Cheesy
