Can anyone find any footage of the Aston Villa FA Cup game back in 1984(?) at the County Ground. Mark Walters' goal won goal of the month or maybe even goal of the season I think but cannot find any video of it anywhere. My elder brother was a ball boy.

That's a great video but it's a shame they didn't show the Villa back pass that hit their post. Or the mini pitch invasion thanks to a crushed Hotel End as I might have seen a much younger me. The crowd surges at the back of the Hotel End were an excellent reminder of days long gone.

To be fair to No3 events took over rather than him stealthing off.

Fantastic to see the CG full to the brim and the Hotel End in full voice. Lovely rendition of "Your gunna get your fuckin eads kicked in" 5:36

Was pinned down near the front almost in front of Walters when he scored, those surges just show how sanitised it has all become down to moaning over who's in my seat!

Terrace for the boys, paps in the seats, all so simple then.

Great footage. The Villa game was before my time but I remember the Carlisle win posted above as one of my first matches.

Didn't Micky Bell end up at Bristol City?

Weird hand-clappy version of YNWA near the end as well. Not heard that version before.

This is just a general comment with regards to all football fans as I wasn't alive at the time. Why has the Union flag in the majority been replaced by the St. Georges flag amongst football fans since about the late 90's?

The Union Flag's association with NF and the fact that the other cultures within the UK having and using their own flags why not us English?
Similar argument about the National Anthem but it looks like we will be sticking with GSoQ/GStQ...

Yep. Euro 96' saw the Flag of St George reclaimed by England from the far right BNP. Mighty fine in my opinion as St George's day is my actual birthday so I wear the flag to the pub  Grin
Just waiting for it to be a public holiday now!

Watching highlights of Italia 90 recently most of the England fans flags were Union Jacks but yes by 1996 the St George flags took over and rightly so. My birthday is also on St George's Day. I too want it as a bank holiday! One day.

I have been enjoying some old footage (64/65/66) of the cobblers on youtube today. Is there much in existence anywhere else?

I hope that most of you can view these..

Firstly a treat for big Chris  Smiley 01/01/1966 Sheffield United v Northampton Town.

and from the season before... Northampton Town vs Derby County, Apr 10th 1965.

Thank you for that Alwaysdark, some great memories.

                   Thanks for that

Please add more  Wink
