I agree, actually. I have always felt that Gray did a very decent job for us at the beginning of his tenure and has been unfairly castigated on here.

He lost the plot towards the end, and his overeliance on loan signings and lack of motivational power ultimately got us relegated. However, in the season before he assembled what I can comfortably say was the best cobblers team I have seen (I'm too young to remember Carr's glory days). His ability to spot talent (Gypes, Cox, Pearce, Walker, Little etc) and his strength in coaching and improving players (BJ) was superb.

He did spot some good talent, but he also made average loan signings like Watts and Swailes, so they cancel each other out.

How many times is that now that he has taken over as caretaker manager when his 'boss' has been sacked?
Is there a common denominator to this trend?  Roll Eyes

Good coach, s*** manager.  Managed to get a very good squad to roll over and get relegated and then given the summer of 2009 to assemble one of the worst squads we've ever had.

Crap manager, crap football, crap results and one of the key reasons this club has gone backwards and now struggling in this crap league.

You don't go now! - even though he's long left? Hmmh, well I still go to games to support my local club and feel better able to state some opinions amongst fellow fans? Well we're all different.

Oh how I miss the full-back / attacking play of Little and Jones. Rest of above not bad either!!

Well the football doesnt warrant the entrance fee ( i still listen to the opinions of many friends that still suffer) and yes we are all different, im afraid i cant get too excited about the 50/50 to tempt me back. If the Golf course is closed, the test card isnt working or i havent got a funeral to go to ( for the atmosphere) i may just pop along

Yeah, See list of SIX prizes every game - Free meals, cinema tickets etc. Plus a £1 ticket becomes £2 off a big Mac Burger meal and 20% off Frankie & Benny's which must be worth a few quid. Yes, crazy not to go - even if only for the raffle tickets!
