Bunn is taller than Smith
No way, surely, from memory Smith seems taller?

Ah, old WikiAlton's at it again. Haha! The Offy site has Smith at 5ft 11'' but Wiki does say 6'4" Bunn is 6ft I chose the best to suit my argument ;-)

You have left Billy Turley off that list.
And Freddie Hall.

If Smith was going to be off for decent money and Clarke wasn't deemed to be good enough, I'd be prepared to pay money for Lee Nichols and get a return on my investment in a year or two.

Have you seen some of the clangers that Nicholls has dropped at Brizzle? Sure some of you lot said that he'd be playing for England by now!!!

Clarke was lined up to be our keeper until Smith unexpectedly turned up. He was well respected at Oxford and I don't have a problem with him being our keeper for the rest of the season if Smith moves on.

Watched Clarkey at Newcastle and Millwall, didn't do much wrong, in fact I thought that he had a decent game in both...

If Smith goes, and serious improvements aren't made to the defence, we will most likely finish in the top 7 not the top 3.
Clarke is probably more in ththe Lee Harper mould. He'd be fine with a strong defence in front but with lots of work to do he would struggle.
No matter who we have in goal, our defending has to be better, we will get pasted in L 1, if we carry on as we have been.

Yes, he is struggling still in the fourth tier, he hasn't kicked on as well as many thought he would...but at 23 he is still young for a keeper...

It shows how strange life can be as a modern day keeper. He's still on Wigan's books and actually played for them a few times last season before being farmed out on loan yet again. Look at Bunn's career - the only game he's played this season was against the unmighty Notts County. No matter how much money he's on it's a waste of a talent.

He was on the bench on Monday.

A waste that he wholeheartedly abides by.
There is every chance that if he chose to do so, he could play first team football at either championship or top of league one level. Yet he is happy to take the cash and not play at all. In his shoes I'm not too sure what I would do. It's more than likely he'll be down in the championship next season either way.
Not dissimilar to Kevin Hitchcock - 13 seasons at Chelsea, played a handful of irrelevant games each season and earned, presumably a good wedge but a strange career none the less.

I don't blame him at all, he's got a couple more years to amass as much money as he can then he's got to live off it for the next forty years for so. They can't all be goalkeeping coaches. It must be a weird life, training all week and preparing for a game knowing you're virtually certain not to play in it.
