They were truly abysmal.

We were pretty damn good although felt we had another couple of gears if they'd been needed.

Next.

The problem is that up to half time they were still in the game and certainly did not look quite the worst side seen at Sixfields. After half time we totally outplayed, outclassed and made them look like what they were - a very ordinary L2 side. Thought that Cresswell played well as did several others including Byron and JJOT. Moloney played better. To me there were clear signs that the side is regaining the pre Luton form (or up to). Smith had to make one good save all the same. Diamond had a comfortable and imposing game. Hoskins was impressive, but I wish he could have scored another goal or two during the second half! Richards played well and his goal was superbly taken as was Holmes's who yet again made us look championship material.  IMO we need a goal scorer if only cover for Richards. Also an experienced half back/midfielder who is a leader and can influence a game. Amazingly the problem we have now is too find replacements better than we have got already! Lastly I thought that D'ath had a lively opening and from his cut back Hoskins scored. Well done CW ,Staff and the squad.

People keep saying we need a goalscorer to cover for Rico, but do we really? 7 goals each for Hoskins and Calvert-Lewin despite very limited game time suggests that they are more than adequate cover, doesn't it?

IMO neither in the mold or even adequate replacement for Richards. DCL perhaps still a bit light weight.

The trouble is that any support for Richards has to be a 'bit something' otherwise they would be the main striker at a club banging in 20 goals a season.

Loved the Zaire free-kick recreation. A superb goal from Holmes, and that, made up for the miserable weather conditions.

Played some really terrific stuff at times, and should have banked at least a 5-0 win.

Now Im not meaning to be critical when I say this, but at times this season we do seem to over play in the build up to the oppositions box. During the first half on Saturday, this was never more evident. I cannot help but think that we need to shove another bod into the forward line for these type of home games, at least then when the wingers have the ball they have another player in an advanced attacking position to aim at!

Away from home, in my mind we are as perfect as we could possibly expect a team of our stature to be. But at home, I think we would see more from us with a tweak here and there.

No complaints meant, we are currently shooting for 94 points! But can this team score more goals? I would say it *could at times....

I've just remembered something from Saturday - the latest installment of "Things shouted out by the nob head who sits behind me".  Grin

Let me just set the scene... The ref blew his whistle and Barnet kicked off. We immediately got a tackle in and won the ball. It was passed to another of our players who attempted a pass himself, but it was charged down by a Barnet player, bouncing out to give us a throw in. There were less than 20 seconds on the clock and it seemed to me to have been a favourable few seconds. Not so though, as at this point our hero stands up and shouts "COME ON, TOWN, SORT YOURSELVES OUT! THIS IS RUBBISH!"

He's a legend.  Tongue

Are you sure that this is not a tongue in cheek comment?

Myself and others shout silly things from time to time. On Saturday I heard grown men pouring their affection towards Joel Byrom at every possible moment.

I thought Byrom played a blinder on Saturday. Haven't got to the point where I vocalise any affection for him at games... Yet.

Sadly, it wasn't. He's the same every game. I don't know why he puts himself through it every week!

I really want to experience this. It would be a change from the Game of Thrones/ house price / overclocking computers/ X Men/ conversation taking place behind me every match. Where roughly can he be found?

HaHa, he actually paused from taking a corner against Accy to look up and see who was shouting "Love you Joel"

Only because he wouldn't sign a new contract. (Not saying he is any good though)
