second goal was well worked but am I the only one seeing JJOT's initial 'pass' to Rico as a poor (but fortunate) first touch?

Anyone else been reading their forum?

Some genuinely ridiculous and stupid comments on it.

Yeah I've just had a nose. Have they watched the highlights at all? Every one of our chances on there comes from flowing football  Grin

Ryan Brunt best player on the pitch for either side was a particular favourite of mine. I don't even know which of their players he was, that's how much he stood out  Tongue

Apologies if I've missed it but has there been any confirmation as to whether jj is suspended for Dagenham and no?

I just had a gander on their forum and agree it makes for some amusing read. Apparently we play minimal football based upon this one game played on basically a ploughed field, even though they played hoofball yesterday. Apparently Adam Smith is over rated because he did nothing, perhaps try and muster more than 2 shots to keep his busy in that case.
Oh and boring are we, even though we have scored 5 more goals in a game less.

The green tinted specs are on well and truly in Plymouth today. To be fair I can understand it, happens to every sat of fans after a loss!

Not suspended. JJOT is on 8 yellows so 2 more before any ban.

Great away trip. Tweaked our style to combat their physical approach and it worked, Wilder out manged their manager. Thought our tactics were spot on.

As a side note, their fans possibly the most moany I've seen, straight from the first whistle every single decision they griped about, seemed to work though as the ref gave them pretty much everything.

It's funny reading back this thread, how different it is to being there. We never really looked in danger of conceding, even in the last 10 minutes they weren't creating chances, just lumping it into the box after endless free kicks. They were pretty poor to be honest, felt like they tried to make it a battle, possibly because they had scouted us and knew we'd wipe the floor with them if they allowed us to play our usual game. Wilder called their bluff though. We did what we needed to do.

Not sure what their fans are moaning about saying we cheat etc. Yeah a bit of time wasting but bloody hell, what do you expect!! Ref added the time on and more so.

Out of the top 3 at the moment, I'd say Plymouth seem the weakest, they didn't really seem to have any creative players and they're strikers aren't good enough on that showing to boss defenders when there is no creativity.

I was about to post the same......I think it was Razor who said it sounded like Plymouth were all over us yet even me, one of the most nervous, pessimistic fans you could ever have the misfortune to stand next to on a away day felt that we were pretty much in control until the period around their goal.

Agree with every thing else from this post as well. Smiley

He made a brilliant save in the first half which was the difference between the two sides at that point, he kept one out and a screw up for them let one in for us.  Second half we could have been out of sight before they scored.

Looking back that was one of the best things about the night, having a slender lead at half time and with the backing of a large crowd, you would have expected Plymouth to chuck the kitchen sink at us but it was us who dominated the game at the restart. It's not very often you see that from a Cobblers team on the leaders home 'turf'.

What was Smith doing while Adams was making the save?

Sorry, laughing out loud at your blow by blow account of England's number 1 or 10...Nicky Adams!  Grin Grin Grin

More seriously, do agree to an extent, beginning of the season and indeed pre-season, Adams was on fire. Potter paled into insignificance (bit harsh but kinda!) by contrast.

You were wondering about how many we might get at MK after the Plymouth win but I thought D&R should come into the reckoning first. Not important really, I don't know why I bothered. Hope we start on Saturday like we did when we secured our stay in the league there a couple of years ago.

Speaking of forgotten games...if Newport County draw with Blackburn Rovers and we lose at home, sorry away to MK on Tue, the Oxford Utd game on Jan 30th is back on!

It's not a replay. It was postponed.
