From those longer highlights it looks like they had their chances...

Dagenham had plenty of chances. Could easily have scored 3 goals.

Fortunately their finishing was poor and ours wasn't.

I bored my mate 10 minutes into the game when I explained my belief in the phycology of sport. I said that the sooner Dagenham scored the better because until they did (matter of time) we wouldn't come to the party.
I then went onto explain that at the point when Dagenham do score they will become scared at the thought of having 3 points to lose instead of just the 1 and that they would retreat...whilst we would wake up.
When Dagenham did score I was relieved because I quickly made the point that there was half an hour left (plenty of time) for us to win the game 2-1.
He quickly shut up when Ricky did the business!  Grin

I think a fair summary would be that we were absolutely shocking in the first half (worst we'd played ironically since the last time we played them), average in the 2nd half until they scored...and very good after that.

I think the players have been mentally tested this week with the Cup euphoria and the very impressive performance and result away at the league leaders. Note I say mentally and not physically. They just were not 'at it' until they had to be if that makes sense.

Morecambe will be a come down next Saturday, whatever happens on Tuesday. Wilder needs to spend the latter half of the week working their minds as much as preparing them physically. Unlike D&R, our opponents next weekend will be more relaxed and less likely to implode in the way we saw Dagenham do yesterday. We will have to be on the front foot from the off..like we normally are.

Agree on Morecambe. They're always a tough nut to crack when they come to Sixfields.

The way Rovers are going, they may be a bigger threat!

Possibly, but hopeful just part of a dog fight for 3rd place with 1st and 2nd assured - Fratton Park in May might even be a relaxed afternoon by the seaside.....................

Rovers vs Plymouth and Oxford vs Portsmouth next Saturday, a win for us will be a huge step putting pressure/gap on the others.

Little bit disappointed with the crowd yesterday, thought more than that would have traveled to be honest.

892 was not a bad attendance but compared to the numbers travelling to MK on Tuesday it was disappointing. I was hoping for at least 1000+
But the quality of support at Daggers was v good plenty of chanting/singing - die hards perhaps!

All the attendances have been a bit low from the Championship down.  Only 16k at Hull yesterday and 23k at Wednesday for the home game with Leeds.  Maybe a case of post Xmas and New Year financial reality and a lot of fixtures of late.

Lot better than the home attendance though. Singing and chanting was very good, I'm surprised Jim M at the Saints doesn't hire a few to create some atmosphere at the gardens.  Evil
