Just noticed that one of the Cobblers' biggest fans, Derry Felton, who uses a very specialist wheelchair, has been burgled. His specialist gear that allows him to use a computer via, I think, head or eye movements, is part of what's gone, along with all his irreplaceable Northampton University coursework, film scripts, memory sticks etc. and even his carers' keys! Despicable crime. I'm posting here because he will need moral support and quite likely will need a lot of money to get anywhere back to where he was.
I'm posting here for two reason, one - a matter of information concerning a fellow fan and two - maybe someone who reads this will know more about him, his contact etc. and could suggest ways we can help him. He's one of my wife's valued and hard-working students but she's on Uni business in India at the moment and is hard to contact in any detail.

Can we not set up a Just Giving page for him or does it have to be a registered charity to do that?

To rob someone is bad enough but someone with these difficulties makes it even worse. Why would you steal that sort of stuff?!

Is it the same chap that was part of that pitch invasion a few years ago? Would definitely be happy to donate to any sort of fund.

No, that wasn't Derry. He needs constant attention, a solo pitch invasion is probably beyond him!

Now this might be an idea as to where some of the #WeWantAnswers money should go. Even fans of other clubs who donated couldn't be upset with that.

What DC and Bushey boy did was bad but this is a 100 times worse IMO. Happy to donate. Agree that we should ask the Trust to donate some of that cash raised for our survival to Derry's plight. Evil b***ards.

WTF?  Why would somebody steal that stuff?

I don't know the guy personally, but I certainly know of him as I have seem him at Sixfields many times.  While I hope he is able to get on with his life, I really hope he is able to get to the Cobblers.  I know how much I look forward to home games and seeing the current team play.  Makes me angry to think he might miss out.

Can we do anything to help?

If you look at the video footage you will see his carer walking slightly awkwardly along behind him, looking ever so slightly embarrassed and visibly thinking "what am I supposed to do here?"  Grin

Just read in the article that KT is also vice president of the charity that actually sorted all his computer equipment out in the first place.  strange coincidence.

Just noticed that Derry's total has just crept over the £2,000 mark! Brilliant achievement in such a short time. Well done everybody! Good kicks Evil in the nuts.
