I have just seen on Sky Sports that Graham Moore our midfielder during our season in the first division has died. Graham played midfield alongside Joe Kiernan in that great season for the Cobblers. He also won over 20 caps for Wales.

Sad news indeed. Just looked up his record on wikipedia and it's impressive for a Cobbler playing at a higher level and a current international when he was here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Moore_(footballer)

He signed from Manchester United in 1965 for the princely sum of £15,000 then ...... approx £200,000 now.

Can you ever imagine a situation now where we would be signing a genuine Manchester United squad player for £200k ....... it's like a different world, and that's football in general, not just The Cobblers!

But yes, sad news indeed coming so close on the death of John Roberts in early January, another ex Cobbler Welsh international of those times.

Played really well in the team that held its own towards the end of that season in the top flight. Always surprised he is rarely mentioned in best ever players. RIP

I always thought he was good - never forgot him tackling Bremner early on in that game - left Billy horizontal in the air. Billy was shaken but not hurt and had a quiet game there after. Sorry to hear the news. Great player! Adieu Graham Moore.

That's very sad. Was lucky to meet Graham a few years back on my way to a game at Bury. A lovely chap. It's been a bad year already for us losing ex players.

RIP Graham Moore.

Myself and 2 mates attended the 65-66 re-union 10 years ago at the Hilton, Collingtree. It was the evening before we played Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and we finished up in the residents bar drinking with Graham Moore, Tommy Robson and Terry Branston. All 3 of them were great company and Tommy was trying to get us to stay for another beer at 02.30 when our taxi turned up. Shame that only Tommy will make it to this years re-union.
RIP Graham, great player and great company.

I seem to recall him being in the County Tavern after a Tuesday evening game against Doncaster (he was playing for them). That would be early 70s I suppose.
