I m sure a cultured lot like our good selves have an interest in art. Do any of you have a favourite painting or artist? I am a big fan of the work of Rembrandt, especially circa 1655. Quite brilliant I am sure you will all agree Le Boeuf écorché (known as.... Slaughtered Ox)

Nice. I have a Lowery print in one of the spare bedrooms. For my next piece of art I would like to introduce a little known artist who was from Denmark. Anna Ancher (1859 – 1935). Her work 'En ung pige, der plukker en svane' (A Young Girl Plucking a Swan)

Might be a bit middle of the road here but I love David Shepherd. And in particular his paintings not of wildlife but of steam locomotives (mainly in decline). I think he once said that Rembrandt would have loved the light and atmosphere in old steam sheds. Have a look at the colours on the locomotive and in the foreground. How do you even begin to recreate the colours seen here. http://www.davidshepherd.com/davidshepherd-blackfive.html

An artist that specialised in steam railways and the military, famous for his little mouse, Terence Cuneo.

My next piece of art that I would like to share is slightly different. It was painted by an anonymous artist. I am sure you can all appreciate the excellent use of colour in this piece . I give you 'Minster in flames' (circa 1840)

Fine art Photography is something that often gets overlooked generally outside of those working in the field, due to people incorrectly perceiving it as not 'real art' as it is supposedly easier than painting for example.
I quite like this shot.. Just look at that ships helm resting on the bottom of the table seabed

Any of you familiar with the work of Bev Doolittle? A unique view of scenes...

Theres an artist called Ruben Dragoor who has been recreating classic portraits but replacing the original specimens with Rappers and other pop culture icons. My friend has one on his wall and its funny because people always have to take a second glance before they realise its not a print of an old painting.
