Gave this a bit of thought last night while watching everyone moan about everything and anything over the last few days/weeks (myself included) but i think maybe the club should send a survey out to everyone on the database either by post or email, and find out if/why people are disillusioned with the set up. Things like ticket prices, food and drink, programmes, club shop etc etc and really make a big effort to find out the concerns of the supporters, why we have them and what can they do to rectify/make them better. What would they like to see? It's great seeing it every now and again on here but does it get noticed that much? Even if the Trust carried it out, and reported findings to the club. The Football League do a survey every year to find out how fans are feeling and maybe the club should do similar to gauge the opinion of supporters, and actively look to improve it. Make a big push. You never know it might work?

This is a cracking idea , even if they didnt have the money to fix all the problems. They could at least identify problematic areas , If the club were seen to be doing everything within there power to improve the club/matchday experince and were visible doing anything other than cost cutting. it would go along way to pleasing alot of fans.

Things that need to be coverd

Ticket prices
Merchandise
Food

Performances to go with the results on the pitch would probably be the major request to improve the match day experience from the majority on here?  Tongue

The rest of the 'experience' probably wouldn't matter then.  Wink

Well obviously that helps things. Maybe there could be a section for what the players and management could do? Just small things wich create the feeling that the players and supporters are pulling in the same direction, things like what some away sides do like just before they go in after their warm up go to their supporters and give them a good clap and show support.

Invest in the team.

I couldn't give a bollocks what food they serve or how nice the ground is or what merchandise there is, the thing that makes me smile is an entertaining winning team.

If you take a family for example , the husband and the son want to go and watch the cobblers. they dont care if they have to drink piss to get in as long as the cobblers win , but the wife and daughter arnt going to sit in the cold , and eat over priced horrible s***.

I know its only an example but if the wife and daughter stop going thats £30 + gone , if the wife makes the family do somthing else with their saturdays because the cobblers experince is s*** , thats £70+ gone

Frankly, that's the sort of tosh served out by those who dress like tramps, citing that "as long as it keeps me warm" Roll Eyes Whether you give a jack or not..some are interested in where they sit..what the wear..progs...90 mins of chaps running around chasing an effin ball...ain't the whole package!

Bollocks.

Thats all.

Felt i should expand....

I see what you're saying, alas you are probably correct regarding merchandise etc. However calling people tramps because they only care about a winning team is ludicrous.

IF we were smashing teams and flying up the leagues and entertaining we wouldn't have to worry about good merchandise etc as all the seats would be sold!

DustCobb, it's about finding out what can be improved. Whats going to get the average fan, family, or people who stop going back to the games, bar winning? Doing this isn't going to lose any of our fanbase, but standing around doing nothing, making the matchday experience and the level of service poor will lose us supporters

Agreed Tyler.

BUT a winning entertaining team would solve most issues.

I see the argument for improving the experience for sure. Just think its secondary to the team.

Well said Coolcat. We're never going to attract the better class of supporter whilst we have to put up with scruffy urchins who turn up at matches looking and smelling like they've just got out of bed. In my opinion there should be a certain dress code that should be adhered to even in the North Stand where the poor people go.Only the other day I was shown a photograph of the crowd in the Hotel end in the 1960's, and very few of the adults weren't wearing a tie.

Great idea, put the survey on here, It would be good to see what supporters hope to get out of their visit to Sixfields.
I agree with coolcat, if i only wanted to see a ball kicked around for 90mins I would wander around the Racecourse pitches and see plenty of action, Lots on here don't give a monkey's about the s***e our loyal supporters put up with as they just listen to radio Northampton and then moan like bitches at what Geoff Doyle reported to them! Just for the record I loved every minute of mondays game, yes it was poor first half and with no beer or hotdrinks to be had, but the win was just as sweet as any other!

The 'I'm not arsed as long as we win' brigade are those that will always go to games as long as they are able to, which is fine. It's not about them being urchins or settling for s***e, it's just they're not really that bothered if their burger is hot or not, mainly because they wont  buy the stuff, again, thats fine. But it's about what do people view as wrong, or improvable to the club and the matchday and about the club trying to resolve or improve it, as at the end of the day, it sways a good proportion of supporters when they pick and choose what they do at weekends

25 minutes for a cup of tea is unacceptable. Is it beyond their intelligence to knock up a few cups in the run up to half time rather than pour and lid each one as and when somebody orders?

I believe the catering contract is up for renewal soon, and funnily enough that'd beone of the things to go on the survey!

I'm shocked that you haven't suggested that the North Stand be designated as an area reserved for those residing in Council houses Ted (and those from Luton too no doubt!  Smiley )

There's an idea for last away game of the season.  Fancy dress, go as Ted.

Not calling people who only want a winning team 'tramps'...just demonstrating parallels with such a rather narrow take on fashion/clothing...and the footie day out as well as supporting a football club.
