This is gonna be more common in the years to come , amateur sport is dying due to ever more restrictive red tape, stupid health and safety regulations, lack of volunteers willing to give up their time and perhaps biggest of all player apathy !!!!!

If something dies out because no-one wants to do it then its probably not a bad thing. Supply and demand and all that.

It's sad when ANY football club folds, big or small.

It's not as straight forward as that. For example, Sunday football is dying in Northampton (less than 50% of the teams that there was 10 teams ago) with the vast majority of teams who fold blaming excessive costs (pitches, referees etc.) and poor facilities as the reason as opposed to a genuine desire not to play.

Whilst I agree with this there's another big reason Sunday football is struggling, and that's 5 and 6 aside football. Many people now who would have traditionally played for a Sunday 11 a side team now just play weeknight 6 aside football.

I don't dispute that whatsoever, I think that's also quite a big cause. However, the fees involved in amateur football are simply ridiculous and unsustainable.

The complete opposite of what Spencer have isn't another football pitch. The opposite would be, I dunno, a block of flats or a space ship or something.
Are you on fckin drugs?? The opposite would be an upside down football pitch, for example a large turfed ceiling. It would require careful tempting with hydroponics due to grass wanting to grow upwards. Clearly the grass would have to be of a blue or red variety

And if you asked a Man U or Chelsea fan about our plight a few months ago they'd probably have said the same thing. Just because something doesn't register on your personal radar it doesn't follow that it doesn't mean the world to someone else.

I remember watching a Cobblers friendly at Spencer, well I say remember, couldn't tell you the score but all I can say is that Marco Gabbiadini arrived in an open top BMW (sunny evening) and you could here Lee Howey's knees were audible as he warmed up in front of us.

I'm not sure if you just didn't read what I said but the key part was " NO-ONE".
