CW may well be thinking about his next project. I hope it is with us but clubs are going to come calling.

I'm very worried that he will go as:
1. He is on a rolling contract 2. Bolton are currently a championship club 3. Bolton are arguably a bigger club than us

Maybe paddy crerend will come back?

BBC reporting the following:
"Wilder is on a rolling contract with Northampton so would be available for no compensation fee in the summer."
How does that work? I thought the rolling contract meant he has one year on his contract left on any given day. So if Bolton poached him on Friday 15th April they would have to buy out his one remaining year (plus further compensation to the club which KT would need to negotiate).
Personally I don't see it happening. Bolton is a great opportunity, but he's still young had is building something special here with an owner he has previous with.

Yeah, that's correct according to previous comments from KT etc, not sure where the BBC is getting that from. Other Bolton sources claim the compensation package would be £50,000. Impossible to speculate without seeing the contract though. Even if we know the length of contract the buy-out/compensation terms will vary from manager to manager and club to club.

CW stated he loves this club the other day.
That's enough for me.

I was thinking about this last night when I saw the story on the web. If worse came to the worse I would be looking to someone like Neil ardley at Wimbledon or - and this might sound a bit controversial - Gareth ainsworth at Wycombe. I certainly wouldn't want knill to take charge as I think he is a great assistant but not a number one. Still hoping that mr perma tan at Southend will get the Bolton job

If he doesn't follow Wilder to Bolton I wouldn't be opposed to him being appointed at all. Wilder has always said they came as a package and I think he's had a greater influence on our success than he's given credit for. He's seen just as much of this side as Wilder has, knows what makes them tick and is an experienced manager. Continuity is key for us going into next season.

I just think that knill's strength is as a coach not a manager - his previous record as number one isn't great. In any case like you say I reckon they come as a pair and he would be likely to follow wilder

Can't see him leaving to go to Bolton as they are still a club in financial trouble. In fairness I can only see him leaving for a big championship club or above.

I think Wilder's decision will be based on our ambitions for next season. With a couple of decent additions to our current squad, I think we can have another progressive year next season and his stock will rise further. For all their recent history, we will be in the same division as Bolton next season and we've seen the so called stronger / bigger struggle to get promotion both in L1 & L2 so I don't think it is a massive step up for him. I think he'll wait for the Sheff Utd gig personally.
I suspect one of the reasons Calderwood left was due to Cardoza cutting the budget significantly upon promotion and CC realised he couldn't take us any further.

I think he will be gone at the Seasons end along with Knill. As for a replacement? I hear Oxford might have to look for a new manager.

One of the articles refers to a shortlist of three applications, which suggests that Wilder has indeed applied rather than being tapped up. I also understood that Bolton's former owner has written off his £179.2m debt.

I just remember when Atkins took us up and it was said that he was offered and turned down the Norwich job. When a managers stock is high they would be wise to consider any job offers from bigger clubs.
