The collar looks abit mincey and its too plain. The one with the stripe across was far more fetching.

Translation: It isn't pink...

I think going for a plain, smart look after seasons of yellow/black then pink away options, makes perfect sense.

However, would indicate the home shirt will be plain claret (certainly no white) as there's no 3rd kit this year (can't revert to the pink as it's Errea).

I am going to hire a crack team of old ladies to knit me a nice claret jumper with two white bands across the chest.

If the idea is good enough for these lads well it's good enough for me!

That's exactly what we just said! I don't dislike it but then it's hard to dislike a plain white tshirt!
If it was matched with claret shorts it would look great as the home shirt.
Never really thought we should have claret shirts as a given, my early years were the 70s when claret shorts white shirts was the kit ( Bukta I remember).

Looking back over the years at our kits, I tend to link certain players to certain kits.
For me JohnJoe O'Toole will be the icon wearing the pink away shirt. John Gayle in 90s all claret (our best claret shirted kit) Steve Berry in the pink zigzags (from that Coventry goal I think). Ian Benjamin in the mid 80s pin stripes etc. etc.

Does anyone know if the club shop is open today? The opening hours say the shop is shut on Saturday mornings out of season which implies they are open in the afternoons but the phone goes straight to answer phone saying they are closed. I want to spend some money!

No s***, Sherlock. However a) it's for a gift and I don't have time to wait for it to be delivered and b) to be honest I begrudge paying a fiver to have something posted to my house 3 or 4 miles away.

On top of that, if I was going to buy a shirt (which I'm not) I'll generally have a look first to see what the fit is. I'm generally a medium but on the skinny fit ones I'm more likely to go for large. I imagine many people do the same. After the big fuss they made about the launch this week, the following Saturday (when many of those of us who don't work in the town get our first opportunity to get to the ground) is a key trading day. Or it would be if they weren't closed.

Is that really an appropriate response to me?

I asked a simple question which could have been answered without the facetious dig at the end, really, couldn't it? Have you ever thought of getting this narcissistic superiority complex of yours looked into by a professional?

If you are generally a medium, shouldn't you have known that?
