Who's going tonight then? I can't wait to swap footy casuals for my best suit and socialise with the players and staff to celebrate properly. I say properly, every game since Christmas seems to have been one almighty p1$$ up rolled into one magnificent blur......
I guess what I meant by properly was, drinking and actually having something to eat for a change.

I'll be there. Driving up from Suffolk in an hour's time. Looking forward to it.

After years of boredom, despair, resignation and misery, this is unbound joy.

It was a good night. Went back to the Casino but didn't see any players. Kelvin Thomas was there. Nicked 60 quid cashed out and got the taxi home. That cost me £35.00 mind but hey nights like this don't happen often.

What a superb night last night was. Professional, glamorous (especially the ladies lol), funny, players being really cool with pictures/autographs etc, pictures holding the trophy etc.
Just a brilliant brilliant night. We had Lawson D'Ath on our table - absolute quality young lad.
Funniest incident on our table - we were directly behind Chris Wilder and Kelvin Thomas table at the front. We'd bout a bottle of champagne to toast Lawson on the table..... the foil came off, the wire came off..... the bottle sat still on the table as we waited for the waitress to return with glasses. POP...... the friggin thing opened itself, skimming my ample bugle and landing..... in Mrs Wilders drink on the next table. Crapped myself.....especially when Chris Wilder joked about it and told me to tell the chairman that if players had bubbles from fans then he should have the same.
I duly filled Mrs Wilders glass with bubbles to apologise for the flying cork lol.
aLOS, zander Diamond was quality, taking the piss out of D'Aths voice and his suit etc. He also signed my new phone to apologise for killing my old one at Exeter when we danced on the pitch together lol

It was a superb night. A worthy finale to an awesome season. The mood in the room was fantastic, getting to lift the trophy was a privilege, and the players and management were only too happy to pose for photos. Considering how many people there were to serve, I was very impressed with the food. The club has got so much right this season, and this was yet another example.
There are things to improve on of course. With this being the first event of this scale you would expect that. It would be great if the videos could be put online because it wasn't always easy to make out what people were saying. The displays on the tables meant you couldn't always see what was happening on stage, so using the screens around the room to show what was going on up there would have been good. The bar was a bit chaotic, and it would really help if staff knew how to pour drinks and what the prices were. But all of that is mentioned in a spirit of constructive criticism.
My 80 yr old Mum who only follows the Cobblers on radio and in the Chron really enjoyed the night. People she'd never met before chatted to her, and she loved the family feel of the club. Most of all she was impressed that Kelvin Thomas was so much of a man of the people, when she imagined the club Chairman would be aloof. I will treasure the memories of this season, and of spending the awards night with my Mum, fellow fans, the players, staff, management and Chairman.
It really does feel like we have people who know what they are doing running the club now, and that we are going places.

VERY GOOD TO HEAR THAT, many years ago I meet up with Mr D Leck, it was 1972 I think and he said then, ''it was a great club to play for'' when he played for us
